Hey everyone, I’m looking at a 2023 Raptor 401a a couple states over. It’s sold at MSRP. I currently own a 2022 Tremor 402a. I’ve done a lot of work to it to make it more of a beast, but I still have the Raptor itch.

The dealership is offering me 61K for it and I owe $53K approximately. So the positive equity helps the jump in price.

I don’t tow anything huge, when I do and I’m assuming a Raptor could handle my Home Depot project hauls.

I’m aware of the forum I’m in-I posted something similar in the Tremor forums. I just wanted some other people’s takes. I’ve never owned a Raptor. I’ve always wanted one of course. Only losing the interior alarm that goes off when a bird farts and heated steering wheel. Downside is starting another loan.

Thanks for any advice!

Get the Raptor, you should have bit the bullet when you got the Tremor.

It will keep you up at night if you don't.

You won't look back. The tremor is a fine truck, but honestly, nothing compares to a Raptor. It will handle your Home Depot runs just fine, and it will also easily handle the Starbucks parking lot, haha. Do it, then get out and enjoy her.

And of course you must post pictures when you get her home.

The tremor is awesome and the fact that you can still get the 5.0L in it is a nice option for those that need a v8, however there's really no contest between both trucks. I have to laugh whenever I see videos or articles about how the tremor is a better deal than the raptor, except you can price them out to be within a few thousand of one another and it'll still never be a raptor....

Hi Omaha, I had a 2022 Tremor and it was a nice truck. I leveled it (has the hideous 3” rake from factory) and put some 35” on it. Yes, it looked good, but not a Raptor. I have now owned a 2023 Raptor 37 PP for almost a month and it’s apples to oranges. Not even close on handling, Comfort, capabilities. Then let’s be honest, the exterior styling is on a whole nother level.

If you can swing it financially, please do yourself a favor and go get the truck you drool over every time you see one when driving the Tremor and wish you had it. I promise you won’t regret the decision! :)AECCD9D3-22CE-4154-B638-25DD28949560.jpegED230359-8609-48E7-9A67-E74E26211F9F.jpeg8AEFAB7B-F74C-4356-933C-268C4E5126FF.jpegDEE64572-2080-4684-A66E-6844AAFB036A.jpeg

Of course you should get a Raptor.
But let’s red team this first.

What’s your use case? Are you doing really technical or high speed off roading and the Tremor is disappointing you? How often are you using the truck for that purpose? What’s the Raptor going to do for you the Tremor isn’t doing for you, aside from moving from a peasant truck to a real truck?

If you’re just posing at starbucks, save the money. If you’re commuting and posing at starbucks or car / truck gatherings, again, save your money. The Raptor tax is REAL.

OTOH, if you are off roading regularly the Raptor does everything off road adequately, and its suspension is unmatched in stock form. As the speed increases, the Raptor comes into its own. East coast off roading does not play to the Raptor strengths, but it will do fine. The Rap shines where you can really open it up past the pavement.
