Dealing with SVT Directly

I used to phone SVT once a week, on my 2013, All you have to do is give them your dealer code and order number. I had my vin before my dealer had it....

My dealer treated me right, 4 months and 10 days ago I got my truck for $500 over invoice, now they want MSRP, $5000 more. So what do I do about the DORA? I have pressured my dealer about it and he keeps telling me the same answer. In fact, the last time I asked, he said that he could refund my deposit if I am not happy. What to do?

If you already know the dealer code then just ask him for the order number and tell him that you don't have to bother him anymore and will check the status yourself. If they can't give you an order number then I would be seriously worried.

Well then consider me seriously worried. I have asked for DORA's, order numbers and so on...nothing. But here's my dilemma. I negotiated a good price (in writing), gave my deposit and I ordered on 2/27. I know I can't even come close to that price anywhere else. Also, once I go elsewhere, the clock starts over. I believe that this guy is tugging my nuts. But, I can't convince myself to start over with another dealer. At this point, I will continue calling my dealer and become a big pain in his ass. I do have the luxury of time. As I've said before, I don't care how long my wait is...I just need proof that I will get one.

Dude, I don't know what you tell you. You should have an order number. When you call SVT, they will ask you for that. So if some so-called new system doesn't have that then ask yourself why would SVT or even Ford Customer Service still ask for it? We really need to educate ourselves on the order process. I wouldn't of even made a deal with a dealership unless it was agreed upon that I would get a DORA within 72 hours at the latest. Who cares what kind of deal it is, if no Raptor is coming?

I guy I know ordered a raptor and the dealer didn't provide a DORA but I did confirm that it is being built as I was able to get the VIN. The dealer only provided a VOC. The reason why is because the dealer actually sold what they ordered for stock and just changed the order to match what he wanted and made it seems like they were doing him a huge favor of getting it built so quick. If they provided him the DORA then he would of been able to tell that the dealer did nothing of the sort and saw that is was ordered three months ago. But on the VOC, there was the order number so I have no idea why your dealer can't provide it to you. If they ordered it, then there is an order number, plain and simple.

The order number is generated the day the truck is ordered. Order numbers are unique to each dealer, just like the dealer number is unique. SVT could tell me exactly how many orders my dealer had ahead of me, they were in sequence, I would always ask if they had been pulled, since they only pulled 1 or 2 a month. When they all were pulled, I knew mine would be next.

It's a tough wait, the first dealer I order from overbooked, I waited for 3 months and they still had about 10 orders ahead of mine. I bailed and found another dealer, had I waited, I would have never seen my truck. The second dealer got the truck in 6 months. But by this time last year, my dealer allocation was gone, so I'd move fast if I were you.
