Dealer says my 2018 Raptor is only worth $25k on trade

Figure out what you are willing to pay. Tell them they get your truck in trade and a check. Tell them to roll all the tax/fees into the calculation and you don’t care if they give more for the trade or come down off the price. You are willing to do a deal for $xx,***.

We asked a dealer to give us less on trade in, and lower the price of the vehicle by the same amount simply to avoid taxes. They heard that and said "Yep we'll do that- **** the taxman...."

Sadly dealers will go by “good” condition. I don’t think they EVER go for very good

They only go for very good if it’s 1-2 years old with like 12k miles. With perfect tires and show room looks.

All depends on dealer.

During the covid craze I was trading in my 2014 RR with ~106k miles.

First ford dealer offered, 29k saying it had too many miles. Even though they had a rust bucket Terrain with 90k+ miles for 47k on the lot.
Second ford dealer offered 37k.
