I agree I've never said e-10 rocks try e-15 if you do an awnest run you should see better mpg but I use e-30. And know its better than e-10.

I don't understand that, sir. If I get one mpg less mpg on e-10 as compared with non-ethanol fuel, how can e-30 be better? Logically, that's about like saying if one tequila makes you sick, three tequilas will make you healthy!

I don't understand it either Ruger it's since there is something about pounds of pressure and why 10% causes vapor lock in older carbed vehicles plus with the higher % of ethanol you no longer have the water issue since. at least the 15% ethanol is ok for the raptor it's up to you to see if it is better or not. It might be the same as regular gas might still be a bit worse but I have had people that said e-10 get bad milage and now that they only can put in e-15 it's better. give it an honest run and see what it does for you if you want.

No expert here but is there any true dyno reports showing the 6.2L with Premium (91 or 93), reg 87, e15 and this wonder koolaid called e30? Talk is cheap. :)

Now how did my own thread just asking about having the dealer put better gas in the fill-up turn into a Wilson e30 thread.......

Sorry RDFTS people just want info and seem to always ask.

back on subject I think the dealers should ask what kind of gas you want in your tank.

the first tank was filled at dealer not sure what they put in but then I ran 3 tanks of premium 93 octane then to e-30 I average about 13.5 mpg I think break in with premium is important why the the dealer should ask...

Wilson, I can't run the experiment you suggest, and it really disappoints me. All that's available in my part of the world is gasoline that has no more than 10% ethanol. I have a digital choice: ethanol free gas or 10%, and I've already run that experiment.

I'm going to ask my salesman to fill with ethanol free premium grade fuel because I despise corn gas, mainly on principal.

UPDATE: Since I am about 4 weeks out from expected delivery, I emailed the salesman to put premium in the full tank. Here was his response:

"As for the fuel, our policy is to put in the Ford recommended fuel, so we wouldn’t be putting in anything greater than regular unleaded. I can put in a request, but the only guarantee I can make is for us to leave it with the little bit of fuel that is in it when it comes from the factory (which is regular unleaded)."

Amazing that they are being jerks about it. I should have known being a dealership. I replied asking about the Fuel Charge, will see their response...

EDIT: I responded and had to bring to their attention the Fuel Charge and even said fill it with premium up to $124.92 as that is what they charge from Ford on the invoice and stop, even if not full. It just amazes me that they would even give me shit over this, when you really think about it, we are talking about a $20 difference in using Regular vs. Premium for them and they are still charging me the full price of the line item. Why bother a customer over $20 when they are spending over $55k. Makes no business sense to me. Looks like I should be getting premium but starting to make me wonder what kind of dealership this place is once I get up there to take delivery....

Salesman's response, "As for the fuel, I’ve put in the request in the file and I will do my best to make certain it happens."

just don't put e-10 in and living in MN impossible. I'd use e-15 or premium did you know the big oil is using 84 octain gas and blending it with the 10% ethanol to make it 87 octain that is some crap gas and ethanol is making the crap work... PS the raptor is designed to run on 91 but will work with 87 I'd tell them to brush up on the owners manual.

I thought all gas now had a minimum of 10% ethanol. I also thought the fuel surcharge was for the increased cost of fuel like so many other carriers now do. Shows what I know or I guess in this case don't know.
