You cant be serious?! Car dealers are located on huge parcels of prime real estate , some having a 100+ employees. If you think dealers arent making money when selling at invoice then I have a bridge to sell you. Dealer principals are the only ones that know what the real bottom line is, but I can assure you they are not losing money when selling at invoice.
gross profit to pay for employees and such, yes. net profit after paying the 100 employees and covering all other expenses? not so much.

The dealership that I sold cars at made near zero from the sales floor and about $100,000 a month from parts and service. They only sell cars to keep the service department busy. We sold about 200 cars a month.

The dealership only made $1.2 million a year selling 200 cars a month? Seems like a lot of overhead for that much money.

This is typical. Parts, service, financing, insurance, and used cars pay the bills. New cars, what, 10% of the profits? Maybe.

Yes clearly dealers sell at invoice and make no money out of the good will in their heart, that's how the bought their Patek and $5000 western boots. Dealer's make good money at invoice, and great money at anything above. Which is one of the reasons ADM is that much more insulting.
If I ever see a dealer employee wearing a PP they will have my respect.
2 tone blue subs are the car salesman go too watch or maybe a all gold one for the gm.
