I agree with what my brethren have stated in this thread. With the market the way it is…I’d be pleased to pay dealer invoice on any add ons and not push for freebies.

They’re called stealerships for a reason.

Just understand a few basics first.
1) MSRP is not a good price. Blah, blah, blah...Raptor... blah, blah, blah. MSRP is a market adjusted, over inflated price. After a model year, the truck will fall in value to a more reasonable amount for what it is. You’re in a bad market, and buying a 1st year model with high demand, so gamesmanship is strong at this time. I know, my last vehicle decided to get uncooperative in 2016 and I decided to go for the Rap; 1st year Gen2. You’re paying basically 4-7k more than people will about a year to 18 months from now, all things being equal. Add to that the current market shortage and you have a recipe for being a seller’s market.
2) get it in writing, even if it’s just a text message. I negotiated my entire deal start to finish by sms text on my ’17. I called to put money down on it, but the stealership did not waste my time. This is a lot of “subjective feeling” but if you get a fishy vibe, it’s probably for a reason.
3) get it in writing or as the saying goes ‘it never happened’. OTOH, don’t let add ons tank a “relatively” good deal and in the current market, MSRP is kind of the standard.

Only time I have seen a raptor listed under msrp was at the start of the pandemic... Doesn't mean people didn't get deals on them but I have only seen them listed lower last March/april

Don’t be so sure. Depending on the market when your order arrives they may be able to sell your truck for $5,000 -$10k more than MSRP and might just say, “beat it” and refund you your deposit if you try to pull something in the finance office. It’s worth a shot to try and get some freebies now but I wouldn’t play games when it’s time to take delivery.
Exactly, look at how many on this site are looking to find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP. The only work the deal needs to do is to answer the phone. This site represents a small percentage of buyers for the truck.

People were scoring under MSRP deals by spring of 2018 for the Gen2. Not of you’re sticking to only 2 or 3 local stealerships, but people willing to shop were getting them. Crazy places were still advertising with ADM attached, but only unintelligent buyers were paying that money for an ’18.

It will come down, unless Ford whacks production altogether.

If they have a decent service dept, ask for oil changes for the 3/36 so they can cover any warranty work.

Otherwise, you got a PDF for MSRP, I wouldnt rock the boat.

When demand was low(er) in 2019 I negotiated for my first new Raptor. They came down about 4K off of msrp, did the 100,000 mile warranty at cost, and did free window tint on the front two windows. they seemed perturbed when I asked for those last two items but they made the deal.

After the ink was dry I found out I could’ve saved $100 by getting my warranty through my credit union and the window tint I wished immediately had been done with ceramic by a reputable local guy. Moral of my story being: take the deal you have now and say thank you. Do your aftermarket stuff elsewhere. Shop around for your tonneau, find a tint specialist, talk to your credit union about warranties. I’ve found that you tend to get better quality accessories elsewhere.

a dealer profit on vehicles is miniscule when compared to other consumer products. try asking verizon to sell you an iphone at their cost. lol

in 2017 someone did a video showing something like a 7-8 thousand dollar profit on a Raptor sale at invoice if I recall correctly. But yeah, parts. Holy moly.

You cant be serious?! Car dealers are located on huge parcels of prime real estate , some having a 100+ employees. If you think dealers arent making money when selling at invoice then I have a bridge to sell you. Dealer principals are the only ones that know what the real bottom line is, but I can assure you they are not losing money when selling at invoice.

Yes clearly dealers sell at invoice and make no money out of the good will in their heart, that's how the bought their Patek and $5000 western boots. Dealer's make good money at invoice, and great money at anything above. Which is one of the reasons ADM is that much more insulting.
