Where does this angle come from? Have you determined this angle from your extensive background in automotive design? I think you are getting way too worked up about this. especially since you seem to have a one off problem. Design flaw? I would think there would be more than one then. I understand that you are frustrated but really this is not a global problem so get off your soap box, hike up your thong and jump through the hoops to get a new one or just bite the ******* bullet and make it work. there have been plenty of ideas better than the factory solution laid out here. Life is not fair.

wow... ;-)

The sad thing is, it would cost Ford maybe $80 in supplies and time (legit expense), to keep a customer happy who's spent some good money on a nice vehicle...Not to mention how many he'll buy in the future! (Possibly NOT a Ford) I just don't understand the thought process of not fixing something so simple as this...

If Ford continues to give you the finger and not take care of this, I think the Linex route looks really good! Good luck with the end result either way!!

I can understand where Ford is coming from. An issue that no one else has seen before on what amounts to be a part that retails for about $850. They either eat that and replace it or paint it and risk that not lasting, so then they have an ongoing nightmare to deal with. I personally would go to Auto Zone and pick up some grey scotch bright and some black gloss spray paint for plastic. Remove the grill, sand it with the scotch bright and paint it. A good afernoon job, you get a custom look hat looks great and he satisfaction of both fixing it yourself as well as custom modding it yourself and making he truck that muh cooler. I did that with mineand it looks awesome IMHO
