Possibly along with some of the other bumpers, Rogue, RPG, SVC, etc.....This leads me to believe and after market bumper, like ADD, is... safer?

I did a side by side comparison on Friday, when I went to view a Raptor that had just arrived at a nearby dealer. The bar that is indeed behind the front wheel wells on the 2016 F150's is not there on the Raptors. I was very disappointed to find this out, because my dealer never said that this vehicle didn't have it. I have pictures, and will try to post them later. That was one of the features that I was excited about getting. So much for that!
Why would just this bar make such a big difference between a cab remaining in tack vs crumbling like a soda can?
I'm glad to see this issue is getting some traction.
The problem is that Ford is advertising these as having a 5-star rating when it was clear from the tests that were done on the '15 and '16 F150s that these crash bars were what made the difference in the truck passing or failing.

Hard to say, but it clearly made the difference in the back to back tests of the '15 and '16 SuperCabs with and without the bars. My guess is that they deflect the truck just enough that the cab doesn't get smashed.
35" tire clearance/suspension articulationWhy does Raptor not have front crash bars?
Why is a 35" tire not a problem on the regular F150, then, captain obvious?35" tire clearance/suspension articulation
#captain obvious
who knew?Why's a 35 no problem on a regular F150?
