Well they stated no codes, tech took it for a spin, will take it for another spin tomorrow but they won’t drop a pan to take a look without any codes.

Also stated that they applied some TSB'S and I think he said updated the TCM but Iwas told just 1,600 miles or so ago that they had already updated the TCM and I believe the paperwork stated updated ECM too.

Don't know why they wouldn't want to take a better look at it since I'd stated that I noticed some cloudy white smoke and it had a smell of burnt transmission fluid.

Will have to double check my old paperwork which I'll probably take with me when I pick it up since I'll probably have a few more questions for them.

Below is the paperwork I received after they installed the new transmission, cooler and lines.

Maybe they upgraded you to the "rear ended" shift programming some of us get. I haven't had it in a while, but it used to happen every few months. Seems like it was triggered by getting on the gas, off the gas, then quickly jabbing the gas again, or some combo there of. It seems to trip the tranny up.

I chalk it up to part of the Raptor mystique and don't worry about it. But when it happens, it will get your attention.

Then again, maybe my truck is out of whack. It's not frequent enough for me to take it in, let alone assume the tech driving it will be able to reproduce it.

So I talked the mechanic that had installed my new transmission and he stated that there were no codes and that the transmission was overfilled by about half a quart and stated that could have caused it to aerate and maybe mess with a solenoid and maybe that's why the temperatures were higher than usual and couldhave caused the rear-ended feeling. (Another way I could describe it would be to state that it felt as if the transmission was going to come through the floorboard. )

Also said some fluid was probably pushed out the vent which is what caused the smoke and burnt transmission smell.

Said it's shifting really well and I could take it for a drive with him which I declined.

He said he had drained some out to the proper level.

So I picked it up and the paperwork stated that there were no codes, checked transmission fluid and found nothing wrong.

I had to go to my car and read it because I forgot my glasses. I took it back in and kindly asked him to add the findings that the mechanic had stated.

He did and now it states that the fluid level was slightly overfilled and drained to the proper specs.

Oh well it's shifting fantastic for now so we'll see what happens down the road.

Does the mechanic's explanation sound reasonable?

Well on the way home from work today I was in manual driving spiritedly shifting gear and when upshifting my transmission paused for a 1/2 second and then shifted. It did this a few times sometimes the pause felt a little longer. At 29,007 miles now.

So I called the Service Advisor and they state right now they're backlogged on transmission work for about two weeks. He asked if I had and lights or trouble codes showing which I don't and stated to drive it for a few more days to see if it continues. He also mentioned about disconnecting the battery cables so the transmission can relearn.

If I end up taking it back in it will be the third time for transmission related issues even though I'm not sure if the second time counts because it was supposedly just overfilled a little.

Both time it acted up I did notice my transmission temperature was warmer than usual around 221° but I don't really think that plays a part in this acting up.

Anyway I did some research and came across this video below and will post a few comments that basically states that the adaptive shifting strategy can be disabled and has helped a few people.

I just want my Ford Raptor to shift properly because I've always owned Ford trucks and never had any real issues. I love this truck.
