I agree with this 100%. Oiled filters allow too much dust into the intake air, and the oil that gets stripped off isn’t good for the turbos. I haven’t found a better filter media than Donaldson. The 6” diameter filter on their Raptor kit seems a bit small for the twin turbo setup, the one in my Cummins truck is 8”.

The stock filter on the F-250 diesel trucks was (and may still be) made by Donaldson. If possible I’ll look into retrofitting one of those as they are good sized.

I was going to add this. Some oiled and dry filters “flow” more because they filter less. In any vehicle I ever ran with an oiled, if you take the filter off after so many miles, you’ll notice there is a buildup of fine particulates on the inside of the intake tract.

Exactly. If an upgraded intake does provide noticeable gains over stock and filters better, I guess I’d consider it. But 20-30 crank HP in exchange for worse filtering isn’t worth it IMO. Sounds like of everything either the volant or Cobb would be the way to go if superior to stock in filtration.

I Did IC, Cobb Intake,Cobb Stage 2 tune with transmission tune (highly recommend it), and AMS boost tubes same day. Hard to tell what the boost tubes added but much larger than stock.
How does yours run after all that? Pretty much exactly what I planned on doing.

I had a 2019 and now just got a 2020. The 19 was tune only and it was a huge difference. I’m wanting a little more on this one.

I went with JLT because I have used their products before on my Shelby, looks great and sounds awesome. May not add any horsepower, but it does make the turbos louder and who doesn’t want that?!? Also looks cool under the hood.

Another note, don’t take out the “silencer rings” my check engine would come on pretty mush instantly when I removed them, not sure why, my buddy has stock intake with them removed and no problems lol

Also have their catch can and coolant resi cover.

Great setup. Been very happy with it.
