Clunking sound on Gen 3 too

My new shock may not fix it but I’ll be anxious to see what fox says when they rebuild mine.

If not, Im sure the aftermarket will have something. SVC is working on a Livevalve bypass.

I may put some fox 2.0s on the back if all else fails and put the live valves on for riding.

I feel for you, same issue here. only one member has a confirmed fix by replacing both front struts. the cost on that is about 4k and I'm guessing Ford is not about to do that for everyone. the rear shocks are $700 each fyi

I thought I read all the messages but I haven't been able to find a video capturing the sound you all are having. Does anybody have a link to one, if there is one out there?

I have a very subtle noise that almost sounds like my gen 2 had. (Gen 2 ended up being the sway bar links on mine) but on this one I cant pinpoint with the naked ear like I could on the Gen 2, so definitely different from before.

The way you all are describing it, mine is not the same, unless it progressively gets worse.

Rear shocks are 1,475 a side. Doh

Okay. Removed shock. Noise is gone. Ford says its normal. Must only be normal for the passenger rear shock.

I ordered a new shock at my expense since Ford is obviously doing what Ford does.

You think driving a week with a missing shock will make the LiveValve system freak out?

If Ford is listening.

My wife had her BMW X6 repaired. The dealer picked it up. Left a loaner car. Repaired the vehicle, sent a video of the repairman and his diagnosis with the car in a text message then brought the vehicle back, washed and fixed, all in the same day.

I take a Ford in…
Shop is booked a month out.
I drop it off at 7 am, get a call at 5:00 and they said it hasn’t even been looked at and the would need it until monday.
Not to derail but I so agree with the terrible dealership experience at domestics. Had an Audi, and the dealership experience (within warranty) almost makes up for terrible resale value. Every Ford dealer is the same, they schedule you at the crack of dawn and probably get to it at 4pm.

I will disagree here. It’s still possible to find small town stealerships with a bit more personal touch feeling to them. It’s rare, but it happens.

I hope you Jen Tres crew get a fix found and soon.

Took both rear shocks off and drove around. Not quite as bouncy as I expected. Even over railroad tracks.

When I had just the passenger side off, the left made a slight noise so it took it off. Now is quiet as heck :).

I do get a warning since live valve is offline. What’s wild is the adjustable steering is also off-line.

I may cancel my OEM shock order and maybe wait for the aftermarket and just deal with it.

I should have tried that first. The live valve plugs are a pain to get to. They are attached to the top of a cross member.

I just put the shocks back on. Only broke one zip tie push-in Christmas tree. That is a record for me.

I’d love to know, now that we know it’s the shocks making the loud clunking, what the heck would do that inside a shock.
