I should have tried that first. The live valve plugs are a pain to get to. They are attached to the top of a cross member.

I just put the shocks back on. Only broke one zip tie push-in Christmas tree. That is a record for me.

I’d love to know, now that we know it’s the shocks making the loud clunking, what the heck would do that inside a shock.
Is there a fuse you can pull? I wonder if it's some calibration issue.

I was looking for the module. I think it may be under the driver knee panel under the emergency brake lever area.

Maybe someone can confirm???

Although it clunks when the vehicle is off and you bounce the back and cycle the shocks up and down.

The VDM is on the fame rail driver side below the rear door but i wouldnt unplug it. Unplugging the shock itself will just default the shock to full stiffness.
Also, If the VDM has a loss of comm or invalid signal it disables the ABS, ABS Stability control and Selectable Drive modes Communication.

Just checking in as a new Gen3 clunkmobile owner. Have not taken it in yet, but planning on it.

Low speeds, neighborhood streets with small bumps and ruts. Nice loose feeling in the gas peddle and the floorboard.

Awesome.

I'm sorry to hear that your truck is doing it too. Hopefully Ford will come up with a fix soon.

I got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore, and I had to trade my truck in after only 3 months.

My new shock shipped. If that doesn’t fix it, I may be dumping mine too.

Not like it’s a little rattle either. I’m ok with those. People honestly comment on it when they ride in it.

Best way to describe it someone with a tire iron between the bed of the truck and the frame just going to town on it.

I kind of feel like we got scammed by ford.

Haha. Here’s what really seems like the same issue at a micro level.

Icon/King? Seems like an opportunity to get some real shocks on these from a quality shock company.

Sorry to hear. Hope I don’t get to that point too.

That sounds kinda like it?

Not a bad idea on the shock upgrade, but I’d love for Ford to cover it.
