I just tried that. Mine is definitely coming from the rear passenger shock.

Seems internal to the shock.

Anyone seen a shock upgrade from Icon or King for these yet? I could ditch the live valve nonsense.

Really too bad about these. I was so excited when I found one on a lot in the perfect color only to be laying in salty ice having my wife (non fatty thank you very much :) ) jumping up and down on the bumper while I crawl around it after 300 miles to figure out why it sounds like the wheels are going to fall off.

My gen1 has some clicking sound in the front shocks. Just like my RZR did. My gen2 had a very similar, yet super subtle, sound in the front. Not an issue at all. This is definitely not normal. It honestly sounds like someone is hitting the bottom of the truck bed really quickly with a crow bar while im going over super small bumps at like 15 MPH

Okay. Removed shock. Noise is gone. Ford says its normal. Must only be normal for the passenger rear shock.

I ordered a new shock at my expense since Ford is obviously doing what Ford does.

You think driving a week with a missing shock will make the LiveValve system freak out?

If Ford is listening.

My wife had her BMW X6 repaired. The dealer picked it up. Left a loaner car. Repaired the vehicle, sent a video of the repairman and his diagnosis with the car in a text message then brought the vehicle back, washed and fixed, all in the same day.

I take a Ford in…
Shop is booked a month out.
I drop it off at 7 am, get a call at 5:00 and they said it hasn’t even been looked at and the would need it until monday.

I am very interested to find out what your results are. There are several members here who have already had the rear shocks replaced, and it did not eliminate the clunk. I hope your experience is different!

That would be wild if it didnt considering I pulled the shock off and the noise is gone. :)

I think what he’s saying is if it’s a part design/manufacturing issue, the replacement part may exhibit the same issue. My advice would be to wait until Ford releases a service message with a repair direction.

Ahhh. I see. That makes sense. I talked to FOX and they told me to send them the shock I am taking off and they will "rebuild it". Maybe they will have some insight as to whats causing it. I would not wait for Ford to address the issue. If its not a safety issue, it will never get fixed.

My experience with these shocks is that, yes, they do make some noise. This noise people are getting really doesnt seem to be consistent with the typical clicking or chattering noise I got with my gen1 and gen2. I cant imagine Ford R&D driving through a parking lot hearing "bang bang bang bang" over every little bump and being like, "Yeah. People will be cool with that".

Who knows. Maybe I CAN imagine it. After all they let us chumps do the beta testing on the 6.0 and the 6.4.

I don’t know. How much do you like being in control when you’re driving?

Now, not to excuse the crazy wait sometimes we see to get repairs, order parts, etc. but

I call Lincoln for regular service. They deliver me a loaner Lincoln, sent a video with all updates, collected my oil sample for analysis, exactly as instructed and documented on the video, bring my Lincoln back on my schedule, washed and fixed all in the same day.

Bonus: I don’t have to be worried about being stranded by brand-b roadside assistance when they come to pick up their non running bmw, but leave us in the sweltering heat... Yes, that happened.

So, again, not to excuse the Ford stealership service experience, but you’re comparing a Eurotrash luxury brand to a peasant brand. I agree with you though that Ford stealerships should be upping their game. Especially the for the F/P line. There’s definitely enough profit margin in the GT500, GT350 & Raptor to accommodate concierge level service. The downside might be if we mod like crazy and the stealership balks at the mods, we could easily find ourselves on the hook for the loaner... Fair trade IMO.

Haha. I hear ya. Being american is always a good excuse for low expectations. I can subscribe to that :).

Ive owned Fords for 30 years and have always loved them. I think the biggest issue is the dealerships are getting so huge that you lose that personal touch. Back in the early 1990s, Id take my bronco in and the service writer would go out to my truck and go over with my concerns. Then the tech would look into the issue and often call me to discuss his findings. Im still a diehard Ford fan. They just really need to work on the post purchase experience.

I’m bringing my truck in Monday 2/14 for the clunking sound. They told me that new shocks probably won’t solve the problem. If not it’s going bye bye
