Chipwerke for 2017 Ecoboost

My ChipWerke is on the 1-1 setting. The 1st couple rides hesitation was an issue. With the pedal commander on city mode this seemed to resolve completely even with traction control on. I’ve not had any hesitation for weeks now and have even floored it to smoke a few Chevy minivans. 93 octane only in my truck so the plan is to try 1-2 or 1-3 next week.

I currently have my PC at City+3, so maybe tomorrow I will tone it down to +2 or +1 and see how it does. Maybe it's as simple as my truck has only been driven 30-45 minutes with it today and it's still adapting. I just turned TC off and took it around the block and it seemed a little better, but still hesitates and even sputters a couple of times before it kicks in smoothly.

Borrowed my friends Chipwerke and threw it in 3-1. Jesus, my truck is now a beast. No issues at all WOT, 4A nannies turned off. It pull boost above 5k, it does this stock as well. He wants it back :(. Not sure a Whipple kit is necessary although I really want the intercooler

All of the seat-of-the-pants reports are positive, has anyone done a dyno and data log on this and see how much boost it’s adding, and more importantly, what the afr is at full boost?

No. While they might do similar things, they are two completely different companies and products.



Are you sure about this? The products are more than similar. Both products use the STM8S10 micro controller, identical MCP6004 op-amp, 78L05B voltage regulator. From the pictures, I can’t tell if the other components are the same but it looks like identical. The controls are also identical, along with how they are identified on the pcb.

If they are not the same product, one of them should probably find a lawyer.

I just sent my Chipwerke back unfortunately. I only had it on for a day, but was not pleased with the jerking, sporadic tranny shifts, and loss of power/hesitation when throttle was added. I did put it in 4A and turned TC off which helped some, but it still did not produce a smooth power delivery through all the RPM band. I would have been more patient, but based on the posts from other members, apparently this issue is still prevalent even after weeks. Therefore, I have decided to move on to a tune from Whipple. Granted, it could cause issues when/if warranty issues arise, but man I was just not pleased with how my engine/tranny reacted the Chipwerke. I think it needs more work...just my humble opinion.

So.... Chipwerke recommends 3-5 days for the truck as a whole to learn the upgrade and you send it back after one day? Didn't give it enough time to work through? Did you speak with them before you sent it back to see what they said about it?

Your trucks learning cycle is about 20 miles max if you use the proper procedures. I.e. combining regular driving and WOT hits along with different mode selections.
