They are still problematic- specs are still the same
I haven't seen enough complaints on 2015+ ecoboosts yet to believe there's still a problem. But if there still is an issue with condensation build up it's more apt to happen in humid climates. I live in a non humid climate and have never had the condensation issue in the 3.5 years that I owned my 2011 Ecoboost or in the 2.5 years that I owned my 2014 Ecoboost.
However I'll agree that the 1/16" weep hole will not cause any harm.
You're better off with a 1/16" hole and letting it drain as it accumulates. In the video that water was collecting for quite some time. That's why there was so much water when that guy finally drilled the hole. I've seen several people drill the hole but I've never seen that much water come out.Truckzor said:Why not just drill a larger hole then weld a tapped tube end to it so it can be completely sealed off again after periodically draining the water?
