Well most dealers in ga offer lifetime power train warranty for brand new f150. No pawn. Elderford in Tampa, tuscoloosaford in Alabama, and akinsford

Try getting an engine or transmission replaced under this free warranty at 150k miles and let me know how it goes.

Either the claim will be denied because the coverage is extremely limited, the "deductible" will be larger than the total cost you could get it replaced for somewhere else, or the warranty is nothing more than a small discount on overpriced parts and labor.

But don't let common sense stop you from believing dealers are giving out free lunches.

There are lots of stories on these forums about people's experiences with non-factory warranties.

anyway, anecdotally, there are an awful lot of tuned Raps running around still running fine, not having issues from various tuners. If there was an endemic problem with the platform, all the tuned guys would be reporting problems.

Remember pedal commander guys put out some boost increasing box that everyone had trouble with? Tune guys aren’t all writing in to FRF with tales of woe after nnnn thousands of miles. They’re mostly happy with increased power and better shifting. Which is why I think OP needs a deeper analysis than “your truck is tuned, warranty void. ugh.”

Very well spoken and a technically compelling argument you make there. I presume you are upper level management or a chief engineer?

The irony of that post made me chuckle.

Another reason for my honesty, I am in charge of acquiring fleet vehicles for our company, the dealer stands to gain or subsequently loose a fair amount of business from how they treat me.

With that being said, the dealer I initially left the truck with made a diagnosis of “catastrophic failure, needs long block, turbos, intercooler and all associated piping” after performing very limited diagnostic testing, in fact the service rep couldn’t articulate what was inspected and how it was inspected other than “the tech said it’s catastrophic, he thinks it spun a bearing”

So I gave them approval to drop the oil pan to verify. The service rep filled out the paperwork and was in a hurry to hand it to the tech, alluding to him jumping on it that day.

Well it’s been over a week and the truck has been parked in the back lot the entire time, so I told them I will have someone else perform the inspection and I had it towed out of there.

Long story short, I traded the truck and put it behind me.

I’ll never know what was actually wrong, but I have doubts that it was anything near a complete failure.
