I just spoke with Recaro customer support for a couple questions and I am very very disappointed.
First, they have no double stroller options and do not know of any brands of strollers that are compatible with their infant seat. ok, I'm also having alot of difficulty finding a double option with the Britax as well... so I can accept that.

Second question I asked was height of the shoulder harness on the lowest setting on their convertible seats. Everything I've read says that even though a seat says its good for 5 lbs, it actually isn't as the shoulder harness might sit above the shoulders and is not safe. It says to look for a seat with a 6 or 7 inch lowest setting. The person not only could not provide me with this measurement, but also argued with me that it shouldn't matter what the measurement is as every baby is different and I should test fit it on mine. How the hell do you expect me to get a newborn home from the hospital if I'm expected to test fit my ******** seat?? I get that every baby is different, But I need to know something is most likely going to fit my baby as I won't know their torso length until they are here.

If you're wondering. The measurement is 10 inches with the infant insert that you need to call and order from them.

Try these:
http://m.rei.com/product/885697/bob-single-infant-car-seat-adapter-fits-britax-seats

With this:
http://m.rei.com/product/798584/bob-revolution-se-duallie-stroller

Can also get color matched car seats with the stroller:
http://m.rei.com/product/846802/bob-b-safe-infant-car-seat-by-britax

Love the stroller as it can go anywhere compared to those cheap small wheeled pieces of ... No experience with the Britax infant as we have the Chico keyfit and have been happy with it over two kids. We have the Britax pavilion.

Good luck!

Thanks for the post McGrath. I've read/heard great things about the Bob, unfortunately, it won't accept two infant seats. FAQ | BOBgear

The Britax double stroller also does not fit two...

The only one Britax offers is the B-Ready which you can buy a lower seat attachment for

Alot of the other twin moms I know are getting the City Select, but holy expensive batman once you buy all the attachments to make it work for a double infant seat and then a double stroller. I was not looking at spending $600+ on a stroller but I suppose we may end up there

If we do get a stroller when they are infants, I'm leaning toward this. Amazon.com : JOOVY Twin Roo+ Car Seat Stroller : Baby

Britax adapters are only another $20

Sorry didn't notice that it doesn't take them side by side but makes sense based on door width.

I would be leery of that double Britax as it looks like you would need monkey arms to walk with it without kicking the lower baby. Unless the handle extended.

Joovy Roo 2. It accepts most brands of the infant "bucket" seats. I know it has specific accommodations for Chicco, Graco and Britax. We have been using it with the Chiccos and it works great. We tend to use the frame type strollers until they are big enough for a good umbrella stroller and skip the whole travel system type strollers due to their bulk.

We have not tried getting the twins in the truck yet (Chicco KeyFit 30 bucket seats), but I test fit them and didn't see any issues, three across is definitely doable. As a note, this would be very dependent on your height. I'm 5'10", it works for me. Won't work for BigJ... YMMV...

As far as a seat recommendation goes, we really like the bucket seats for as long as possible. If they are asleep, they can go in and out without being woken up. The Chicco KeyFit comes recommended from several places and the fit, finish and ease of install on the base was all much better than the Graco we had previously. There are also cheap stroller frames that the seat can drop into (Joovy Roo or Roo II for doubles are better than the Baby Trend brand). I am also a big fan of the Diono Radian. They can work both rear and forward facing. They also fold and fit into an optional travel bag to fly as checked baggage. One feature that really sold us on them is that they have a steel frame (vs plastic) which reduces the bulk. It would be much more difficult to get three forward facing Britax (or similar) seats in the back seat due to the extra bulk from the plastic.

Hey bud,
We are trying to measure the back seat of Little Red and I see that you said you test fit the Chicco in your back seat. Was that one behind the drive and the other behind the passenger?

We are looking at either the Chicco key fit or the Chicco next fit.

Thanks

Joe.
I don't have experience with the Chico but I have found most fit but you may have to remove the headrests.

Congrats to you both by the way!

I should clarify...when they are forward facing you will perhaps need to remove the headrests. When they are reversed, they should fit. I have two different recaros and they are the biggest car seats I have seen. They fit fine.

I have had one behind each seat with a booster in the middle. Both were Key Fit.

A lot of good info here. I will be shopping for seats soon as well.

Do any of yall put anything under the seats as to not damage the leather? Or do we just chock it up as an assumed loss when you have the kiddo
