Camburg Stock Length Shackles

After installation of Camburg Stock Lenght Shackles with Icon Leaf Springs on Option 1 on 2019 I can definitely say that leaf will hit the shackle under even little compression. As the truck sits right now just on the driveway without anything inside the bed bottom of the leaf coming from the eyelid is almost touching the box of the shackle as picture shows. You can even put small finger in between.

yeah, that ain't gonna work.

Edit: shackles are on backwards.

Zombie What are the drawbacks of extended length shackles ? I know they can lengthen your suspension droop and soften up your spring rate. I have my icons leafs configuration 3 with leaf added basically stiffest and truck rides very smooth. I wanted it tad lower in rear, pic is with stock shackles , fully loaded in back

extended length shackles will:

Shorten spring life

Shorten driveshaft life

Create the potential for increased spring wrap

They are not compatible with traction bars. The extended shackles allow the rear axle to move a few inches farther forward during droop travel to gain the additional total down-travel. Traction bars are designed to keep the rear axle in a predefined arc.

As the spring unloads, the traction bars won't let the rear axle swing forward ( by design ) and the extended shackles are not able to rotate as they are without the traction bars. ( because the shackles are designed for one arc and the traction bars are designed for a different arc. )

This scenario leads to binding and tends to rob about 2.5-3" of droop travel out of the truck.

The combo of the two can also cause shock issues and certainly makes it near impossible to tune the shocks.

I experienced this on my truck, and I've seen it on 4 or 5 other gen2 raptors.

The combo leads to an incredibly ****** ride which is the most noticeable offroad.

But you know that they are going to hit with ICONs, right? They are designed for stock or Deavers. Personally I have them on my GEN1 with ICONs and yes they do hit at full droop but so far I haven’t had an issue but I do check them often when off-roading.
Hmm, good to know on a GEN2 too. Tried to help.

Thank you. Definitely going with RPG stock length shackles. They have more of the open design just like stock shackles do. Thank you for pointing RPG to me.

If I were you, Id try to give Corey ( The Owner of RPG) a call and verify that he's tested the fitment with icon springs.
From the picture on their website it looks its more open design. RPG logo goes towards the back so it wont interfere and the front where leaf is coming out of it looks like its totally open so even with Icon Leaf being on the bottom of the eyelid it will still have plenty of room to flex.

Just FYI after I spoke with Camburg if you pick their Stock Length Shackles they added a note: they do not work with Icon Leaf Springs.
