I have deavers - that's maybe the difference? Also, I unblolted both shackles from the frame, you are saying you did one at a time? Now I'm thinking I coule try that but not sure how it would be any different?Icons

I am not sure. I have Option 1 on Icons so its not as much tension on them as with option 2 or 3 but still they sprung much much harder then stock.I have deavers - that's maybe the difference? I just realized that Icons have the leaf going on the bottom of the eyelid thats why I was able to take the bolt out because eyelid of the leaf went up all the way to the opening between the bottom of the bed and frame. You have Deavers so your leaf goes from the middle of the eyelid not like Icons from the bottom so you do have about 1 inch less room for leaf to go up and bolt to clear in between the bottom of the bed and frame. Pretty much your leaf will touch bed crossmember before bolt clears because its set up higher on the eyelid. Per my picture your leaf goes where I put red mark and my is on the bottom thsts why my leafs eyelid is able to go up more so i can slide bolt out.I have deavers - that's maybe the difference? For me it was purely covid boredom and i found a new set of rpg billet shackles for cheap. Never got them installed though.Maybe a silly question here...why upgrade shackles if keeping stock length? Is there a failure issue with the stock shackle or is it for the bushing advantage?
That is exactly what I did - it is not possible with deavers. There is no position you can put the rear of the springs in to remove the bolts out of the spring. How about unbolt bottom screws from each shackle , lower truck so leaf eye touches bottom of bed , then get to the upper bolts between top of frame and bottom of bed floor
