Ford redesigned the sunroof. I had some issues with my 2019 and they replaced it with the new revision. I have not noticed waste gate rattle on my new truck and my old one never had any cam phaser issues but it sounds like they fixed that issue any way. As far as the transmission goes, the 2021 feels much improved.

Never experienced that on any of of the multiple recent Ford vehicles I've had with panoramic roofs, never mind ones that were properly lubricated. "Lexus" (overpriced rebadged toyota with a made up name) never had a panoramic roof opening 30 years ago, nor does Toyota offer one on their current trucks, so your reference is irrelevant.
my point is that something made in the 90s by toyota is of higher quality than these panos. the fact that you have to lube these things in the first place is ridiculous. my last six vehicles have had a moonroof or pano of some sort, none of which had issues or needed maintenance within a year of ownership except for the ford.

Your point is invalid and absolutely baseless. The panoramic glass roofs on these trucks are massive and heavy; you can’t compare it with the sunroof on a car. If you don’t use the system frequently and the seals stick, something has to give. In this case it’s the brackets, which is a better alternative than cracking the glass panel.

sarcastic-okay.gif yeah it certainly wouldnt be fair to compare it to other products ive owned, including another pano roof. The ford roof beginning to fail within one year of ownership (with regular use) then continuing to be a PITA for the next year and a half, is normal bc the roof is massive and heavy, got it. Brackets, guides, etc being made out of plastic for a heavy roof, clearly a great design intended to last the test of time. The fact that the internet is littered with threads and horror stories about these panoramic roofs across ford models must certainly mean my points are baseless. Being a ford tech must also mean you couldnt have any bias here.
