sounds normal.
Just to pile on.normally...i garage park, so i do here sounds because it is so close to the wall and that tends to make it sound loud.
This is over Christmas parking outside and a 30 degree start up. Oil is fresh, less then 2k miles and at proper level.
"This is something that will get louder with time and then it gets to the point of failure."
FALSE
"Be advised that the people with parts post-April still have the same issue. Even with the various part number changes"
What are these part numbers?
"The Q4 TSB with the yet-again revised parts never happened."
Who said there was going to be a Q4 TSB? Ford or some dealership with no facts to back it up?
How absolute is the naive....Here is the information regarding the TSB that should have come in Q4 2019:
https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/timing-phaser-tsb-coming.70706/
Special service message # 48168 regarding "ticking/tapping or rattle type noise on start up after a cold soak" says possibly due to worn variable cam timing units, and then to replace all 4 of them - specifically states do not replace timing chain, tensioners, guides etc. unless inspection "clearly identifies a concern". SSM also states TSB will be published 4th quarter 2019.
Cam phaser part number changes... Are you living under a rock? The gen 1 engine ecoboost had several different part numbers for the cam phasers. That same concept morphed into the gen 2 engine ecoboost. Again, they have changed numbers for the phasers at least twice now, and Ford said a third new number would be released Q4 2019. I am kind of surprised that you actually have no idea about any of this. You might want to go do some research a bit more before you com here guns ablazin.
Your bud Fordtechone acknowledged it too. Problem is, it never came out and nobody knows what the hold up is.
Donmatteo - you are really not that knowledgeable on any of this. We all know there was a Gen1 raptor and now a Gen2 raptor. Gen1 had the 5.4, then went 6.2. Gen 2 has the 3.5 ecoboost. Now, with regard to the 3.5 ecoboost, there are two generations... technically 3 if you think the HO is gen. The gen 1 ecoboost was 2010 - 2014. The gen 2 ecoboost is 2015 - present. Wow man - do your homewaork - you sound like an idiot.
There are 2 generations of the 3.5 ecoboost. Gen1 had direct injection only and smaller turbos I believe.Again...is this phantom TSB referenced is actually noted, or on verifiable documentation? Until then, it's speculation and rumor.
As for the Gen1 debate...I quoted you saying that the Gen1 was a ecoboost. Ecoboost means TURBO. What GEN 1 was a turbo?
Gen 1 (2010-2014) had a 5.4L V8 and a 6.2L V8 - NO ECO BOOST
Gen 2 (2017 - ) has a 3.5L EcoBoost (twin turbo)
What Gen1 2010-2014 had a turbo???

EcoBoost engines combine three technologies—turbocharging, direct fuel injection and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT)—for power and efficiency.
"Wow man - do your homewaork - you sound like an idiot." Exactly
I know. Kuan said this...."The gen 1 ecoboost was 2010 - 2014. The gen 2 ecoboost is 2015 - present. Wow man - do your homewaork - you sound like an idiot."There are 2 generations of the 3.5 ecoboost. Gen1 had direct injection only and smaller turbos I believe.
Gen2 has port and direct injection and slightly bigger turbos. I think the timing chain is slightly different between the 2 as well.

You're right. I was skimming your posts. I see now you were referring to the gen of ecoboost and not the raptor.Oh man - you are completely screwed up
There are Gen 1 and Gen 2 of the Raptor.
There are Gen 1 and Gen 2 of the ecoboost engine.
I never said there was an ecoboost Gen 1 Raptor.
I can see now that reading and understanding is not your strong suite.... so that explains your blindness to other things.
