Oh well. Will be fixed under warranty with new parts by dealer I trust and back to enjoying an amazing truck. Glad I didn’t let all this nonsense deter me from buying one

I have the phaser rattle too - have had it for 2 years. Gonna bring mine in at some point.

I feel the same way. I read about this well before I even ordered my truck. I will be getting an extended warranty, just in case. It's an awesome truck that I love driving.

The end of last week I dropped off the truck at the dealer because of a cold-start rattle. Getting the cam phasers replaced and some other minor stuff resolved, all under the extended warranty.

Started about a year ago, so about 65k miles. Has 72k miles now and never had a CEL. No drivability issues, just the rattle on starts.

Add me to the list. Just got my Raptor back from the dealer due to cam phaser fix. 2019 with about 9k miles and no mods.

Here is my first post and i hope someone can help me on this. First off, i have an engine shop where i rebuild engines and build custom racing engines. I`m working on a 2015 Ford F150 with a 3.5 ecoboost turbo V6. I`ve rebuilt the entire engine including all new camshafts from ford. Only one camshaft has a revision on it and is different from the original one. This is the right side exhaust cam. The 4 pin reluctor on the back side of the new cam is out 180 degrees compared to the old one. Nobody from Ford can answer this question if i`m going to have an issue with a check engine light from the cam sensor reading the pins correctly. To understand it better, if i lay both cams on the bench in front of me in the same position, for argument sake, the old cam has 3 pins at 11, 12, 1 o`clock position and 1 pin at 6 o`clock position. The new cam has 1 pin at 12 o`clock position and 3 at 5, 6, 7 o`clock position. All lobes are in the correct position, pin for the phaser is correct. Ford cant even tell me what the revisions are. They did say if there was an issue with the revised cam, there would be a bulletin about it. If i do get a check engine light, can the PCN be reprogrammed. Any help would be appreciated. Too many calls to Ford and the same answer i get from them is i don't know.

Hello and welcome. Since this is unrelated to the topic of this thread, please start a new thread with your topic in the future.

It sounds to me like you got the wrong part number for the cam or one that was manufactured incorrectly. You are correct that it will set DTCs if you use a cam with the incorrect reluctor. As the dealer stated, there is no bulletin regarding such an issue, so there will be no available PCM update to accommodate. If you provide the VIN here or through a DM I will see if I can assist.

19 , 37,000m . zero issues.... went in monday for phazers , hope it gets the updated parts
