they don't fail. they make noise. that's all.I’m starting to hear it. More often than not now. 2018 SCREW. ***** bummer. Do you HAVE to take it in? I’m assuming it can’t be good and is a sure sign of a pending failure.
sounds like a dealer issue. I'd change dealers if possible. So they did mine earlier in the week and cross threaded a bolt on my skid plates and did not rotate my tires when I asked them to or reset the oil life I am wondering if they actually did an oil change
They had the new parts in the build by then. It was April of 19. If you get it, it's because that part is bad one of a bunch.I have a 5/19 build date truck with only 4200 miles on it. I don’t know if it will prevent the issue from coming or not but i religiously hold the gas pedal to the floor and build oil pressure every time i cold start.
Yes i hope so but i have been reading of a few 19’s that have the problem and with the way my luck goes i will be one of the unlucky few. They had the new parts in the build by then. It was April of 19. If you get it, it's because that part is bad one of a bunch.

I just figure building oil pressure on cold starts really shouldn’t hurt anything and maybe it will prevent issues down the road. It might shorten the starter or battery life slightly but those are cheap and easily replaced. The vehicle should have a pretty heavy duty starter in it since it has auto stop/ start.Hear you on that. I have a 4/19 built.
Come to think of it. I don’t recall exactly what the issue was with the cam phaser other than the suppler to ford being the source of the bad phaser. I don’t know if it was a design issue, or a suppler manufacturing issue. @FordTechOne, was the cause of the issue discussed before?I just figure building oil pressure on cold starts really shouldn’t hurt anything and maybe it will prevent issues down the road. i have a 10/2018 build, just started around 36k miles, faint rattle on cold startup for 2-3 secs.
It doesnt really bother me a lot, but im wondering if i should take it in
