How many miles is everyone getting on the stock c rated KO2’s? Dropped these new e rated down to 32/30 psi and the ride is getting back to the how the stocks felt at 36/34.

I’m running the KO2 E rated tires. Not much difference to me. I’m running 35 psi. They are a little stiff when cold, but I don’t even notice it anymore. Maybe when winter hits. I put over 13k on them since March including off-road at Durhamtown. I barely got 22k out of my stock tires. If you file a complaint with BFG regarding the excessive wear for low miles they will give you a discount towards a new set. I got 25% off. I had to go to NTB for the discount since they were owned by Michilin/BFG. However since then many of their stores have been bought by Mavis.

So, my main question is for someone who went the stock C rated KO2’s to an e rated KO2 35’s? And what the difference was. I am wondering if I send the Coopers back and go e rated KO2’s. If the e rated KO2’s weren’t that much difference. Is it just the coopers...

It sounds like mine may be a minority opinion, but I did exactly what you are asking and while I found there was a very slight ride quality reduction and noise increase, it was very small and no issue at all. The over the road ride quality of the Raptor is one of the daily things I like best about it, and I do not feel like the change is significant.

I ran my original C rated KO2's at 38F / 35R. I went to E rated KO2's primarily because I found the C rated tires a bit too easy to take damage under some off-road conditions. I wanted the increased ply rating of the E, understanding that this might make the ride a bit more harsh.

And they did change the ride a little bit, I was not pleased initially. I ended up reducing the inflation to 36F / 33R and the ride is better, almost indistinguishable from the C tires.

It looks like I will get at least twice the life out of these tires as the originals. And I have yet to poke a rock or a stick through the tire, but with the OEMs I had several times by this point in the tires life.

When I replace these tires it will again be E rated KO2's.

T!

I hate to tell you this but the Duratracs have a 2 ply sidewall and are not even close in strength to the 3 ply sidewall on the BFG.
They each have their pros and cons. The KO2's are a little quieter and might be better at rock crawling with the extra ply in the sidewall.
Duratracs are better in rain, snow and mud.

I switched to E rated KO2's and run them at 38psi. I put new wheels on (17 X 8.5) so same as stock. Sorry, I have to disagree, but there's no noticeable difference.
If there is, it's for the better.
Most of the opinions you are getting are speculation from people who didn't make the switch.
I ran C rated KO2's on my 2 door Wranglers and they were much lighter than a Raptor.
The Raptor's weight will do well on the E rated KO2.

BTW, Stay away from Duratracs unless you love tire hum (LOUD). They get worse as they get older.

So a good friend has a raptor with 37 KO2’s put on. He let me drive the same route. Overall ride was similar he has more air/tire being at 37 w17’s at 38 psi mine 35 with 18’s at 32 psi. I’m going to stick with the coopers this go around. We just have some bum ass highways in Cali that cost a lot of money for no show.

I can attest that Duratracs are a LOT louder than the BFGs. Was not impressed at all.

Once again it all comes down to what you are looking to do with your truck. When I went rock crawling I was airing down my E rated tires anywhere from 4 psi on up and you want sidewalls that could take a beating, the trade off was on the highway it was a hard ride on a light Jeep and finding the right psi that worked for my rig

C to D to E are going up in ply rating 6/8/10 and compound and design also make a difference along with what is used in sidewall composition is different by manufacturer. All of these variables make a difference. The shorter the sidewall the stiffer the ride.Long story short

Ok, so I sent the Coopers back and put on 35 KO2 e rated. Even aired up 10 psi more than the coopers they are more quite and less road feel. Very close to the C rated. Thanks for the advice!
