C vs E rated tires

I had my tires replaced at my Ford dealership. They installed the E rated KO2. I drove about a mile and went back to the dealer to see what was wrong. Air pressure was 46 to 48 psi. Changed all to 36 and took it for a ride. Rode terrible! Went back and found they were not the correct tire. Took some time but got them replaced with the C rated. Much better !

Well my problem is I went to an 18" method wheel so the stock C rated isn't an option. Cooper has a ride complaint warranty so I am getting a full replacement cost and going to switch to the E rated 35 KO2 this week. Will let you guys know how that went. I guess will be good info for the forum. Thanks for all the reply's. Can't believe that this C to E makes that much of a difference.

I went with the 315 D rated Wrangler Duratracs. Better traction, little stronger sidewall and without sacrificing too much of the ride.
Had those on my 2011 Lariat SCREW and hands down one of the best tires I ever owned. But I truly love my OEMs on the Raptor and would be hard pressed to change when the time comes.

I researched this when it was time to replace my first set of OEM tires. I found out the consensus is that E load tires are a bad choice on a truck what has suspension that can't handle more load than the stock tires. No benefit and a much harsher ride. More is not always better.

Try E rated tires on a light Jeep. Factory were C range and I didn`t have an option other than the E range when I switched over to 35" KM3`s I ran them at 28 psi and it rode better but not great.

It is my want of keeping the stock C rated tire that is creating
quite a challenge to get a swanky aftermarket wheel in 17".

Just find some swanky 2019-2020 beadlocks, they look great IMHO. There are plenty of cool looking wheels in 17” if you want to go zero offset. In the +25 range there are a few solid choices as well.
