Buying Raptor from out of state of CA, Is it still doable?

I concur. The only thing I credit In-n-Out for is the simple menu and high standards. Burgers, fries, sodas and milkshakes. Not a heat lamp or microwave in sight. I get the INO urge about 2x a year and I am good to go.

I went threw this mess in 2017. Purchased a new Raptor from alabama to be registered in New York. New York follows CA emissions rules. All the trucks are built the same but the Certificate of origin is different. It must state on the COO "Certified for sale in california" The dealer must order the truck this way if they are in a non California emissions state. If its not it cant be registered untill it considered used (5000+ miles) This was my personal experience with CA emissions BS.

You must have lost yours as first of all, their burgers are way too salty, that's probably what you like, second, their fries suck rhino dung. I would say that LA is the burger mecca so many of the places that i would list you would not know anyway - but one chain you probably do is fatburger. WAYYYYY better than in n out.

That's why In-n-Out always places first for best burger........in some publication.....somewhere.

Yeah NY and I think a couple other east coast states are actually stricter about CA emissions than CA is, ironically.

They sold my first ordered truck to someone local and I had to wait another 3 months for the 2nd truck to be built. Any dealer can order a Ca truck but it has to be requested and approved by ford. Again this was in 2017 when I went threw this. Hopefully it’s gotten better.

Oh cool, I thought you had the truck in your possession when you found out you couldn't register it. I don't know why Ford plays this game with the CA emission option. I don't know of any other manufacturer that does.

EVERY Raptor is CA compliant. I bought my Raptor brand new from Ohio and shipped it to CA and it did NOT have the 'Certified for sale in CA' part on the window sticker (About half of out of state dealers actually refused to sell me a Raptor because it didn't have this). I registered it at the CA DMV after a quick emissions test with no issue whatsoever.

1. You do NOT need a weight certificate
2. It is not difficult to get around paying the extra taxes through the DMV

Funny how ****** california started this and yet they dont follow the rules. In NY you go to DMV first, Thats where its determined if it can be registered or not. Thats when they look for "Certified for sale in CA" on the COO. NYS DMV doesnt care what a sticker on the truck says. The inspection is after the truck is registered.
