So I've had an order in order bank since early February at MSRP. Dealer keeps telling me his ford rep thinks there is a good chance it will get pulled and built. Dealer is out of allocations. If this order does not get built, I'm first in line for 2018.

I found a truck on lot at another dealer that is close to what I want. It is $5k over MSRP and dealer not budging.

Do I pay the $5k and get a 2017 now? Or do I wait for 2018 at MSRP? Not sure what option differences (if any) will be on 2018? Also don't know when they will start building 2018? Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

IMO the deciding factor isnt the 17 to 18 MY differences as theyll be minimal.

Its the 5k and the wait. Do you want it now or do you want to wait a few months and hold on to 5k?

If youre first in line you may see a truck as early as August I believe

Wait and save that 5k for something. The '18 will supposedly have the problems solved that the '17 were having

Spend the 5k. When people keep paying above MSRP the value of my Raptor (bought under MSRP) stays higher for resale in the future.

I am waiting for 18, I figure a first year bug or two will be worked out.

I think I am going to do the same unless the dealer comes down today

If you're flexible on color you could make it happen for MSRP.
I live in MN, last Friday I drove down to Alton IL and grabbed a loaded AG 802a tech pkg for msrp. Black or Grey i'm sure you could find. Silver is pretty rare.
