How would this work if you want to also upgrade your intercooler and downpipes? Will they custom tune the truck for you?

This simply asks the truck to make more boost- fueling and management of that is handled by the engine computer still.

I just installed my whipple intercooler with it, iat is with in 20 degree of ambeint, and jb4 showed a max boost at one point of 24.8psi avg I saw was 23psi. (Map 7)

I’ll install my downpipes newer week, doing the catch can, intercooler, and turbosmart blow off took me 8 hours

Im a BMW master tech and I’ve seen Jb4’s on those over the years and they work. The other techs who drive BMW’s use it on their own vehicles. Whats different about a jb4 is it monitors what the engine is doing via obd 2 port and modulates as needed. The other brands simply alter the boost sensor signals. I just installed a JB4 on my Raptor. I left it on map 1 and It definitely gave the truck a nice boost in performance. Watching the boost guage peg at 20 psi is kind of fun. I also wanted this option because i can remove it in under 10 minutes if i need to take the truck in for warranty work.

But is it not detectable when ford hooks it up to the computer? won't it see that the boost was running higher than normal? And Just FYI im not hating, I had JB4 on my old M4 and it was awesome, but I had the hook up at the bmw dealer so i didn't worry about voiding any warranties

If you pull it off, no.
BTW, second revision is out- helped with an erroneous tank vent code.

Hold up... Are we sure the truck ECU doesn't record max boost achieved? If we remove the JB4, you won't see a trace from it as it is a piggyback, however I'm pretty sure somewhere in the system Ford is recording boost levels??

If we've exceeded max boost that the factory code allows that will throw a red flag in the event something goes wrong one day and a warranty investigation happens. I'd love to know that Ford doesn't record this, but I bet it's tracked somewhere.

If had JB's on 3 different BMW's he has a great product. Every one of the cars recorded max boost though and warranty investigations have indicated that the factory could review and would see that maximum boost was over the "regularly" allowed tune limits.
