Just based on what happened, the security footage, talking to some of the locals there who had their newer F-series trucks stolen, talking to the insurance adjuster based in San Antonio, and reading online, I can pretty much chalk this up to a theft ring operating around the border states that steal vehicles and bring them across the border to sell, usually to the cartels. The dudes that stole it weren't mischievous teenagers or amateurs. They knew what they were doing and they were in the truck in 5 seconds. The hotel manager said he's seen it happen several times. The dudes were so experienced they even knew where the cameras were on the hotel and avoided them. They never showed their faces or drove in front of a camera so their plates could be captured. Call me a conspiracy nut or whatever but there's a lot of evidence online pointing that direction. They drive around popping locks on Ford trucks until they get one with a key in it. If they don't have a key they steal the owners manual, and usually that contains the door code card. Then they likely have a way into your truck at a later date, or worse they have your home address. They know you can afford a Raptor, so you must have some good stuff in your house.
