I think the farmer got it right just short and sweet. plus with stainless steel lines it's less likely to get cut or nicked up. factory hose has steel inside the hose but it is a loose weave.

Yea you guys stated it perfectly. I just wanted to add a little nerd to it for those tech guys. bastards.

I will say after adding SS Brake lines (SDHQ kit) I felt a huge difference. I cannot wait to see how much better the rotors and pads are.

Stainless Steel brake lines do nothing to improve stopping performance!
Stainless Steel brake line are better in transmitting the pressure, generated in the master cylinder, through the steel tubing to the calipers pistons; this translates in to better pedal feel.
Nothing more, nothing less.

stainless lines improve transmitted hydraulic force hence improve brake feel
Dot 5.1 fluid will not boil so easily but will soak moisture more hence has to be changed more frequently if pushed to its temperature limits
A more agressive pad will depend upon the driver , and ultimately may(depending upon manufacturer) kill disks quicker !
Big brake Kits are fookin great but have the downside of serious maintenance costs (I have Mitsubishi Motorsport Alcon365x32 6 Pots on my Evo.....but the disks weigh in at 1600 USD for two replacements, not including fitting equipment)

Start with lines and fluid and see what works for you and how hard you pedal with the right foot !

Try Carbotech for serious pad combinations - they will custom make to suit fitments.......XP10s operate at over 800 deg C but are equally as agressive from cold

installed the alpha 1 braided stainless lines and they did firm up the brakes and gave some comfort as we descended mount washington. also swithched the brake fluid to ate blue600 racing dot4.
fyi; the stock brake line hangers need to be modified to accomodate the thinner braided lines.

I did not think there was anything wrong with stock brakes, but the R1 brakes are out of this world. This thing will stop so quick just crazy. What I really liked was in the dunes if I needed to get on them hard, it would stop. Plus they look great.
