The Bronco should be a game changer in ST or Raptor trim.

I don't think there will be an ST, that would kind of be the opposite of the vehicle's mission. But a Bronco Raptor would be awesome, especially if it can equal the capability of an F-150 Raptor but in a smaller package.

Interesting how Ford and FCA are both trying to capitalize on each other's niche markets. The F-150 Raptor and Wrangler both have no direct competition, but that's all about the change with the new Bronco and Rebel TRX. Exciting times for enthusiasts for sure!

My wife dailys a 16 GTI S 6 spd., same color as yours. Fantastic little car with a few nagging points for me.

-Excellent fuel economy. Get around 30 MPG even in the city driving like an *******.

-The steering wheel leather material is complete garbage. Hers is worn out and looking sad at 20k. Dealership wouldn’t do anything about it. She doesn’t use any lotions, hand creams, etc, that would accelerate wear. The cloth on the seat bottoms is starting to wear poorly too.

-It came from the factory with crap door alignment. You get a lot of wind noise out of the two front doors. I also had a door latch on the left rear door come completely loose and drop hardware down into the panel. VW uses a special star head that’s not commonly available for that piece.

-Very comfortable highway cruiser. For the price, the car punches way above its weight class. Reminds me of a FWD E46 BMW.

-Clutch is too damn light and the engagement point is vague. Was real fun navigating Pittsburgh with that one.

-Water pump is leaking coolant. Very common on those TSI motors from what I understand.

Overall OP, I think you will like the car. Just keep an eye on things and hopefully you got better build quality than we did.

VW's are disposable cars

I would not really say that, the do have quality issues that Audi doesn't have. I too owned a GTI once, and it had its issues but mechanically they are good vehicles.

Decent engines, everything else is like cheap plastic. At least that was my experience with my Scirocco

Why are we trying to limit miles on our Raptors? We buy the funnest and arguably the best looking vehicle on the market and then don't drive it? These aren't collector cars meant to sit in the garage. Is there an argument to be made that if you can't afford to properly maintain or repair or replace when it gets 'miled out' you shouldn't buy that vehicle in the first place? Unless you have built an off road specific truck what are yo achieving by not driving? You're definitely not enjoying your investment to it's potential.

Bring a trailer and their 1600 mi Raptor would disagree with you.

Sorry, did not mean to start an argument. Just trying to understand the thought process. In my mind if you bought a Raptor and are already concerned about resale value...why buy it? Life is short, work hours are long, enjoy what those work hours bought you! :)

He still owns the truck, right? He can still drive it anywhere at anytime, right? How does having a car to commute in limit the enjoyment he gets from his truck? If he wants to drive it, he can.
