Correction Greg haha I have the same leaf springs as you guys did and I'm thinking about calling Jarrett about them they seem real low now but that also could be from my rear shocks going out! I bought my stage 3 kit in jan/feb time frame last year and that's all they offered was the the standard leafs. I'm thinking I need something a bit more

I am probably the only guy to have both Deaver and National springs on my Raptor and I will pick National any day.

Can you tell me some of the differences you noticed? I've had Deavers on a Carli system for my Dodge 2500HD and really liked them so I'm curious. Thanks in advance.

Lets be honest, we're all aware you fully support RPG (who only sell National)... So what's your honest technical reasoning for prefers the Nationals?

Pat, you need to talk to RPG about them.

i just got a set of national sd springs from RPG and noticed that the drivers side or the one labeled "Pro L" is arched about 2 inches higher than the right, jarrett said this is normal to compensate for the raptor lean. anyone else notice this too?

Yes and Outlaw sells only Deavers...what's your point?

I had Deavers on my first Raptor before Outlaw or RPG even thought about selling Raptor parts. I worked with Deaver and Jeff personally. They did a good job and I was happy wth them. I had the first set they sold for Raptors so working through the issues was expected. I have nothing bad to say about Deaver . Even when I put the RPG bump kit I was still running my Deavers. On my new truck I went with the Nationals that RPG sells. I personally prefer the Nationals. The Nationals fell more progressive than the Deavers. I am not constantly hitting the bumps driving around town like I was with the Deavers.

Is it OK now that I have an opinion and prefer one brand over the other? Why don't you call Jarrett and buy a set of Nationals so you can experience the difference for yourself. :waytogo:

Just curious what your reasoning is... Not trying to start any wars here.

So you're comparing an early production Deaver with an late production National... Just to be clear?

I have no reason to switch at this point. After 6 raptor runs and 10,000 miles, springs haven't sacked one bit. The new +3's are a great setup if you carry a ton of weight (which I do of course, chase rack plus box of parts!).

I've never seen a spring turn into a "W" before, like I did on Greg's this weekend. He's pissed off, and rightly so! Nothing against RPG or Jarret (who I met, and think is a super nice guy, like everybody says). I'm just getting tired of people saying "X" brand is the best ever, without experiencing other brands, seeing failures of brands, or admitting faults in certain brands, all because of affiliation. Not saying you said it's the best ever, this is just a general observation that got me on the line of questioning I posed to you.

No brand is perfect... But certainly some are better than other, if not in all areas, definitely some areas. So it comes down to "what's best for you" in many ways... Which is where the blanket statements of "this is the best ever" get old.

Ok... I'm done... /rant LOL

In the end you're happy with your setup and that's great... Now we just need to get Greg happy!!!!!

I apologize for the tone of my message. I agree nothing is perfect. Shit happens. Both Deaver and National (RPG) stand behind their products. Deavers work good and I put 50,000+ miles on my set. As long as you like your and I like mine I think we are all good!!

Now let's get back onto Greg's thread!!

I have the national HD springs and they are an easy 2 inches shorter than stock. Does that put my springs in the same boat as you guys? If I put a couple of people in the back seat its not hard to hit the bump stops just beboppin around town. I bought my stage 3 kit off of a forum member who never installed it and decided to sell his truck, you think RPG would still work with me on a taller set of springs? I really don't like the negatively affected uptravel as I am working on a bed rack and plan to run 2 spares and can already hit the bumps with ease on road. Off road is a bit jarring at times in mildly rough sections (ie washboards and good potholes)as it is blasting on and off of barely being on the bumps when I honestly wouldn't think it would be that far into its uptravel range yet.
