BFG KO2 Tread Life Warranty Claim

I don’t have enough miles on my truck to really give an opinion on the factory BFG’s. I figure anything over 40,000 miles is a plus on truck tires. That said, on my 2012 Power Wagon I recently traded in, the best I saw was 32,000 miles on a set of tires. I’m hoping the Raptor is easier on tires with my style of driving.

The gen 1s were rated at E load and could go 60 thousand miles with this new c class on the gen 2 you are lucky to see 30 thousand miles

Am I one of the few people who is mentally planning on a new set of tires annually? I usually drive 20K miles per year and figured the BFG tires would run about 20K per set. If they last more that’s gravy, but on a performance offroad vehicle I just don’t see them lasting well.

My 2014 came with D rated BFG KO's that were specially made for the Raptor, got 65k miles out of them not utilizing the spare. Replaced with 4 C rated BFG KO2's and got 49k miles not utilizing spare. I'm on my third set of tires, 5 C rated BFG KO2's but this time I'm using the spare in the rotation. I have 40K miles on this set and might see 15-20K more.

I just changed my original tires at 55K. Happy with the tires in general and went back with a new set of KO2's.

For those of you that have contacted BFG to see about getting a 'tread life warranty claim', who did you contact? Is there an email address? Also, any recommendations of what to say (or what not to say)? I've contacted my local Discount Tire, and they're on my side saying that BFG should give me some sort of discount, and they said they're willing to give me a discount if BFG doesn't (or perhaps give me a bigger discount depending on what BFG says), but they want me to contact BFG first to 'get the ball rolling' so that when the manager contacts BFG they have some ground to work on. I'm just not sure where to start as to who to contact. Thanks!

The OEM BFGs are indeed pretty soft and give great traction on most surfaces. HOWEVER, if you like to hear them squeal or spin them in the dirt, they WILL wear out quickly. After all the complaints in this thread, mine have 59k miles and are still in decent shape. I do NOT spin the rears for fun. I run 36F/34R cold pressures and rotate @ 5k miles. My Dad was in the tire business for 20+ years and I learned much about tires. I can tell you for SURE that those complaining of wear issues are beating on the tires and any warranty for wear is simply a good-will response from BFG/Michelin.

Agreed, I flog this ****** and get about 15k per set, wouldn’t change for a second. They get me everywhere and not a flat once!

It kinda boggles my mind that anyone would think a high performance truck tire like the K02 is going to last longer than 30k miles or so. I'm expecting to go through a set every 1.5 years or so and figure that's just the cost of doing business. I'm certainly not going to switch to a different load rating or tire that's not specifically designed for a truck like the Raptor.

Hell, 25k miles on tires will feel like a dream compared to the 12-15k miles I get on some of my other cars' tires.

I'm at 20K and I still have the wear bars on them. I do some off roading and mix of highway and city roads. Running 31 cold PSI since day 1
