My lights from Sick HID are awesome however the experience for getting them was totally ridiculous.

I ordered them basically the same time that RaptorSCrew did, was told eight to twelve weeks for delivery. He would go WEEKS without responding to my e-mails and when I finally did get ahold of him at the end of April, he told me they wouldn't be ready until early June, TWENTY FOUR MONTHS after order.. over double the quoted time. So when I called him on that and asked for him to expedite them and overnight them since I was putting my truck in a show the beginning of June, he told me I'd have to pay an extra however much... I could have fallen over I was so shocked. He basically told me to go F myself and that his initial quote was an estimate and not something to be held too.

Absolutely amazing. I then call him for some clarification on his installation instructions and he had a total attitude and no shit, literally treated me like I was some F'in idiot.. talked down to me and if I was even remotely close to him I would have gone over to his house and had a serious man to man discussion with him about respect.

The best part is that since he sent me his lights he literally has written me 15-20 times asking for pics so he could use them for promotion on his site. Now that he needs something from me, he all of a sudden has no e-mail issues and seems to have figured out to work his e-mail yet when I was needing info from him and an update, there was a litany of excuses and reasons.

As has been said, this guy makes great lights but his business sense and manner in which he runs his company is shit. I grew up with two parents that owned their own businesses and lived and died by customer service and we would have been on the food line homeless had they treated their customers as he treated me.

As for his lights themselves, I have not had one issue yet and cannot speak negatively about his work. I do not have any CCFLs though I do have some LEDs under my shrouds.

Too bad for me that Ducati started his business a couple months AFTER I ordered and paid for my lights or I would have gone to him for sure.

Just my $.02 and not really surprised by your story Raptor.. sorry to hear you've had those issues.

Roommate waited 26+ weeks for nothing but a retro and some paint. No extra lights. The kicker of the deal is he was 100% paid up front. Our other buddy had his dodge done at sick with just a basic retro and got his multiple weeks before the roommates raptor's with the dodge being ordered a few weeks later. Brian knows his stuff, but when I was getting some switch backs for my head lights it still stated that a full retro for my raptor was 8-12 weeks out. I was over shocked at the BS for the wait time when I know anyone who has dealt with him knows that's not happening. So glad I waited to see his first before ordering because If I would have just ordered at the same time Dawson wasn't doing his work yet. Then I waited to see if I liked the colors before ordering, but wasn't going to wait a half a year. The only reason I didn't order earlier from RR is because I didn't want my roommate to feel like he got screwed. How ****** would you have felt if you paid the same amount and took a 13th of the time? Placed my order with Dawson and less than 2 weeks it was at my door! Brian needs to learn from Dawson and just tell his customers the truth on wait time.

My customer service with Dawson was one of the best experiences I've had buying stuff in a long time and without a doubt will be my first call when retroing comes into play!

My Raptor Retrofits have been great. I've run into a harness issue along the way... One text to Dawson (Ducati), and I had new parts the next business day, that he'd surprised me with a little custom paint on the ballasts to go with my truck's theme. He even picked up his phone and walked me through an install on a Saturday night while he was at a party. Not to mention during the build he took the time to mock up several ideas I had before I made my choice.

Dawson has gone above and beyond the call of duty in all my dealings with him.

Bummer. I am 5 weeks into order with Sick HIDs. Was new to site and saw all positive around Brian's work I just ordered than found negative stuff and Ducati doing retrofits. I hope I don't have same issues. Oh we'll live and learn.

Here's what I know; Dawson, AKA Ducati is a stand up guy. I placed my order with him in early Aug. and received my headlights in mid October. As soon as my order was confirmed, the LS460's went out of stock at TRS for about 6 weeks. And although Ducati had no control over this situation he was very apologetic about the whole deal. He contacted me every few days to keep me in the loop with the latest delivery estimates from TRS. When the LS460's finally arrived he now had a 40 hour/week construction job, was neck deep in his SEMA builds and my build was 4th on the LS460 list. With all of these obstacles I still received my lights within a couple of weeks after he obtained the LS460's. Was the waiting hard, well yeah, but it was worth it. The lights are amazing, spectacular output with the CBI's and drop dead gorgeous as well. Here's what I know, Ducati's work is impeccable and he is a man of integrity. When something goes wrong, in or out of his control, he takes responsibility and let's you know what's going on. What more can you ask for?

I dealt with several retrofitters for my '01 Cobra headlights and had two HORRIBLE experiences. Both required 100% payment in full before they would even think about starting. The first guy took almost a year to get them done, and if it wouldn't have been for a friend of mine "persuading" him, I never would have gotten them even then. Of course, the retrofitter ended up doing a horrible job and they were basically unusable. Then, on the second go around, the lights appeared to be set up correctly when I received them, however when I went to adjust them, the mechanism failed. When I returned them, the guy wanted to charge me for fixing his mistake/defect. I said no way. Anyway, I eventually ended up doing them myself.

Regardless, the experience with Dawson was the exact opposite. He was pleasant to deal with, required no cash up front, the quality of work was very professional, everything worked as promised, and he never hesitated to answer any/all questions I had. I also have no doubt, that should I ever have a problem, he will take care of me. I would highly recommend him for anyone who is interested in a retrofit.

BTW, I realize this thread is about Sick HID's and their lack of customer service, etc. and not a praise Dawson thread. However, based on my experiences, most retrofitters are exactly like Sick HID's. Dawson is definitely the exception to the rule and deserves credit for being such.

Try to cancel if you haven't paid, or get a refund if you have. Or turn around and sell em to somebody so you can get Ducati's

This is the exact reason I went with Dawson. He is a great guy, and the internet is full of these stories about SICK...

I ordered my HID's on a Sunday (the day after I picked my truck up), Dawson spoke to me several times that day to help me make decisions. I had the lights the following week!
