Installed driver side today.. VERY loud pop/crack/"bang" noise... anyone had this problem? did I install it wrong??

Something is not right.
The door detent 3.0 should not have any noise. It should be as smooth as the stock components that you removed.
Take a look at my pic and see if you installed the correct Door Detent 3.0 on the drivers side.
The arm will be labeled "FL" for the drivers side.
It is also important that you tighten the bolt and nuts to the correct torque spec. (See Pic)

i just tightened mine til they were tight. still workin good. whats a torque speck? something you can see with the naked eye?

Are you serious?
Torque is a twisting force.
It is not wise to tighten down until it feels tight.
You may over stretch the bolt or nut and weaken it. This can cause it to fail.

Many specs are called out in either N-m (Newton Metre) or lb-ft or lb-in.
N-m (Newton metre) is the international spec.
There are several types of torque wrenchs and they are usually in the form of a socket wrench.
The "Beam" torque wrench is one type. Then there is the "Click" type that works like a clutch with a spring.
There is also the electronic type of torque wrench.

This YouTube video will explain it in fine detail.
