I was able to install the driver side, no problem. But I gave up on the passenger side. I did the string thing but what I ran into is I could barely pull up on the plastic plug. There is a box in front of the majority of the plug that has SVT on it. I was able to drop the old door detent and see it but wasn't able to grab it and pull it out because I couldn't get the opening large enough.

How in the heck are you guys doing the passenger side?

read post #20 of mine. not sure if it will help. long time ago. but i agree the passenger side is a bitch

Are you trying to go through the side IP access panel? I tried that way but it was too tight. Drop the glove box, you don't need to remove the screws, just pull the sides in to clear the stops. Then you can reach in and peel back the top of the rubber cover.

I can't pull the plastic plug from the top, that box is screwed on top of it covering the majority of it, especially the top part. I can only pull it from the bottom. Maybe mine is different? I tried loosening the box as it has two 9mm nut holding it but I can only get to the front one but not sure how much it will help unless I can remove it. Is there not a box in front of all of yours?

I don't remember there being a box but that's not to say I don't have it. With the side access panel removed try taking a long screwdriver with your right hand and poking the rubber insert from the top though there while you pull it with your left hand from the glovebox side. You just have to get the upper right part of it loose enough to slide the detent through. You have to be damn near a contoursionisst to work on the inside of these trucks!

Reach up higher. The passenger side is higher than the drivers side. Its almost to the top of the dash.

Think I will take a picture and post it. For me it seems impossible to get to the top of the plastic plug but I do understand the idea behind the long screwdriver. I have a guy installing my lights tomorrow evening, might have him look at it.

Hmm, maybe that. I don't recall it going higher than the box but I will check it out. Thanks!

Ok, had to go back out in the cold to check out what I missed. Yep, that was it, I wasn't going high enough. I was removing the plastic plug that was lower than the door detent hole and trying to drop it down. I see the other plastic plug that is higher than the box I was talking about. But man my arm ain't that skinny but now I have a different angle/direction to attempt my second try. Thanks TheWolf!

Well I got hold of Peter at Northlightlabs and he sent me better instructions for the passenger side. I removed the bottom and used that plug hole. It was a piece of cake, actually easier now than the driver side and did it all in about 10 minutes. Peter said he is updating his instructions with pictures. I highly recommend going this route than going higher. We still used the string to guide the detent.

I am waiting for the Screw rear door detents to be available, oh and for my Raptor to be built.

Good product. Easy install (maybe I have tiny hands?) and entertaining instructions! Took me about 45 minutes w/ a couple smoke breaks... Could of done it in 20 minutes if I had my serious face on.
