Write this down:

ANY OUTFIT THAT CLAIMS HP GAINS or MILEAGE GAINS FROM THEIR CAI IS LYING.

There is no magic, just the laws physics and chemistry. You want an intake that will do nothing more or less than come closest to the stoichiometric optimum at all throttle openings and flow rates. That's all there is. All of the rest is marketing ********. Ask for the dyno sheets on your specific engine that show the air/fuel curve, not just the HP and Torque curves. If they can't or won't eagerly provide that, walk away.

I'll add my vote to the Roush CAI. I'm not sure about specific power gains, but I have a lot of respect for the Roush name, and they won't put their name on a piece of crap. The quality and fit and ease of installation of the Roush CAI is excellent, and it sure sound purdy....

If the CAI is a direct replacement for the stock air box and no tuning is required you will not notice much other than sound. However if the CAI requires tuning, such as the Livernois/Airaid modified intake system, there are substantial gains in HP and Torque but they will not be from the CAI alone. If you put the modified intake on without the proper tuning you will get the MIL rather quickly, ask me how I know.

I'll bite. How do you know, Pat?
I'm interested in the whole story!

There I was all nuzzeled between her....oh wait that's the wrong story.

The whole story hasn't been written yet, waiting on the proper tune from Livernois for the modified intake. I jumped the gun and installed the CAI while running a 91 performance tune made for the stock intake. The DTC codes I got were P0171 and P0174 indicating a lean condition in both banks. I hope to try again next week.
