Nice job Birdman. This has been a weak point for sure. We have been running a gusset version for the last year. Recently we have added a boxed double shear arrangement after losing a couple of pins.

The boxed double shear also converts the setup from a pin to a bolt which should be stronger.

If you have been hammering hard enough to be checking for tweaked knuckles take the time to look at the pins. On one of ours it showed signs of having been bent, which may have occurred before it snapped.

Another issue for us has been the lower ball joint. I have bent two this year. Take a look at those as well.

Here are some shots of our current setup as well as the broken pins.

I agree that a fully fabricated version may be a good future step.

Tire and wheel weight play a large role in this bent knuckle problem. The truck is designed for xx tire weight and xx wheel weight then someone decides to change to a different offset wheel, heavier tire and wheel the stresses added are quite high on all the rest of the parts especially the knuckle, the main part that holds all the weight, and keep the upper and lower suspension together.

$750 on SDHQ's website. Is that a pair or per side? What would a set of factory knuckless cost?

I think one of mine is tweeaked.
