Love my Bakflip F1. Best addition to my truck so far. Got mine from Autoanything.com and they were great to deal with (be sure to ask for their "absolute lowest price").

F1 for me too.

Talked with Bak about some of my questions (deleted by their moderator on their forums). So basically the HD and F1 are the same strength: 300-400 lbs of evenly distributed load. However they are very hesitant about recommending that you place much of anything on the cover unless it is in the open position (stacked 3 layers on top of each other) behind the cab. F1 is much better at scratch and dent prevention.

The Ford OEM accessory's primary difference is it uses better seals. It will be more water tight out of the box. It is built off from the HD model so no fiberglasss resin polymer or whatever it is called as on the F1. Latches and other hardware are all pretty much identical.

My thought is get the F1. If not happy with the seals...there is a wide variety of weatherstripping available that can be substituted.

Read a post from a guy who said given about 15 seconds and a coat hanger or other wire he can be into the BakFlip covers. Just a matter of flexing the rear bar enough to slide a wire in and pull the release. Sounds simple enough. Thankfully crime is not a big problem here.

If security was more of a concern, I'd probably be looking at something like the DiamondBack.

Not sure if they make a 5 1/2 footer but you get the idea. 3/8" dead bolts under the bed rail oughta keep things a little safer.
