I haven't had time to go get the springs done, but after looking at your video I'm concerned, that is a one wheel burnout or am I mistaken.
If it is a one wheel, could I ask you to try a TC off, Diff Locked and Off Road mode "off" as well, on good pavement as this is when I have wheel hop.
I do not have wheel hop in open diff configuration. before or after Whipple Charger.
You might have to be in a turn to get the tires spinning a little in closed diff. like I did before the Whipple.

Keys states he has no wheel hop in closed diff with the Whipple he has the Standard Nationals

Thank goodness for editing :)

^^Good point right there, and agreed. My comments and questions are based on a locked rear diff. I should have clarified.

I can do another video with the diff locked, but splitting the torque between two wheels is actually easier on the truck than forcing one wheel to take all of the torque.

It behaves the same either way, I've done both.

I have had it on all surfaces except sand and I get no hop at all. Sand I think would be even easier than pavement due to the lack of rolling resistance as where the pavement is trying to stop the wheel from spinning which should result in more wheel hop.

One thing to add quickly.... I had massive wheel hop doing this exact thing before adding the leaf

Just to throw my two half cents in here. RPG nationals do help with axle hop, to an extent.. Normal hard driving... YES.. Now, if you really get on it hard (rear locker lock, traction control off) brake stand.. The rear end will wind up, and start hopping, more controlled hopping because the leaf springs start smacking the fox bump stops. But it does still hop, just more refined hopping that doesn't feel like the rear end is going to fall out. So over all it is better, not perfect. Then again, the Raptor is not a muscle car.. I am still sold on the nationals and RPG stage 3 setup for all around performance..

Jeff if you have places to play up there and want to compare your setup vs. a stock 2012 - I'd be happy to make the trip up there this weekend to play.
I am very interested in your setup as it will be one of the mods I will be looking at after lights.

Thanks JG for your explanation and AlbertaRaptor as well. I still can't make up my mind, I don't no which direction to throw my money at. $350 vs. $2,500

The Raptor has so much hipe that I need everything to work nice when I show it off. I know it's not a Lighting and I don't want one

Yes! My point, if you can afford them buy them

I wish there was, everything is 2 hours away and even then the trails have really diminished :(

I'll do another video tonight and post it up with locked diff, traction control and off-road in the off position.

I'll try to have it up within two hours

Jeff, appreciate your work on this.. The stock springs definately are lacking on the Raptor. And more quality options available in the market the better for everyone!

Thanks guys.

I drove 15 mins out of town, found a nice spot and did two videos.

We don't speak of the first video as the girlfriend deleted it by accident

This was the second

Sorry it's so short, it was supposed to just be a slight burnout and launch.

I'm kinda cranky right now, so it may be a few days before I try it again.

No hop though either time.

Jeff
