Looking for "common sense" in anything I do will take you down a rabbit hole from which you, nor I, will ever emerge.
Since 2014 I've bought and sold 6 new Porsches, a 2017 Raptor, a 2018 Platinum, now the 2019 Raptor, and a few trailers and atvs in between.
I truly and humbly admit it's a personality flaw at least and fool's moves at best.
Fortunately I work hard and love to play hard and a thousand here and there, as I suspect is the case with most here, doesn't cause me to eat a burger should I deign a steak instead.
Life is short, and with the BS going on now, that's never been more true. I live it with gusto. My wife says I'm the boy with the toys. I've never grown up and never will. I am who I am, for better or worse.
I don’t know you, don’t need to. I’m assuming your rent/mortgage, utilities, major bills are all paid. My guess is like many people w/ ability to score a vehicle like this you have $$ saved up & 401k/Ira etc & generally well off.
Everyone’s got their vice. There are Guys who will judge for swapping in & out of rides for “loss” w/o even realizing that, at the end of the day we all drive on the same
Roads w/ the same speed limit- at its core a car is a transport machine. Whatever vehicle gets you from a to b @ the combo of lowest price, cheapest maintenance, best reliability is the winner. Anything costing more & doing more
Is a preference/luxury at best.
If splurging on new-to-you vehicles is your thing, have at it. I know soooo many guys willing to judge but equally as quick to **** away their own $$$ “recklessly” on stuff like hunting/fishing gear, clothes, shoes, motorcycles, farm equipment, booze, sports, drugs, gambling etc. anything & everything & still provide for their family, pay their bills, pay their taxes etc. he who lives in a glass house should refrain from throwin bricks
same type of guy who poo poos swapping vehicles like an ADD Floyd mayweather also same kinda guy who puts his investment $$$ in ***** ass shit like high fee ETF/mutual funds or maybe pays a fiduciary to buy gold & .5% yield bonds instead “catching the falling knife” & quadrupling down in the stock market like a ******* alpha savage.
Do you bro ;-)
