Got my Baofung from Jason, so hopefully should be perfect. Mounting the charging station is a pain though.

Could we trouble you to look at out trauma bag and let us know if we have enough stuff or stuff we don't really need?

I can take a look at it.

I'll say this up front. you can never have enough stuff. Regardless of what it is, at some point you will always find a use for it.

To make things easy i recommend not really worrying about band-aids. Stock up on 2x2 or 4x4 or 6x6 gause pads and tape. A good pair of trauma scissors are key. You can cut through a steel toe boot if you have to with those.
Also a couple sam-splints. They are fold able and make quick use of immobilizing an extremity. Also pack a couple sharpies.

You cannot be prepared for everything, even the ALS ambulances don't have everything you need. but you carry enough to "make do" for whatever you come across.

Unfortunately most of the key components that really make a difference are not accessible to "civilians" or require advanced training. Knowledge on how to stop bleeding, proper - c-spine immobilization, and CPR is key.

I've been busy last couple days and haven't checked the thread. I like all the planning activities!

@whtrpta; As for a night run, we have something small we are trying to plan for Saturday night, but the majority of the run will be during the day. Auxiliary lighting will still be useful as dust conditions will probably be high.

I'm glad everyone is getting their radios figured out.

I have the following down for digging for diamonds:

Night Raptor Tactical
RSiWorks
Kmandoske
Farfromstock

Who else is going to make it?

What tools are you bringing?

Learn about any tricks for finding the big one?

Joe, add me and my gf to that diamond list. Gonna go find me a big one.

The park rents out tools but I plan on bringing my own.

ya I think I'm going to do the same thing. I used to have some screen printing material / box but I think it may be too fine. Besides the rental fees are pretty good.
