Glad this went your way!

I had to verify the Forum Section before I opened this thread at work...

"Are these supposed to look like this?"

"Leaking is bad. A little bit of seepage is ok."

I can't see how any leaking is ok. Calling BS on this. Ford needs to step up on replace the seeping shocks imho.

If I'm to understand correctly, leaking=bad, seeping=sometimes normal. Dealing with aircraft this tends to be the case. So with that said a slight seep could be normal, leaking is never normal or okay. I remember my 92 F150 would leave a drop of oil on the driveway from the rear main at the bottom of the transmission, that my friends is unacceptable and was promptly fixed. After that it would collect dust, much like our shocks. That seepage was acceptable. Point is there is a fine line between seep and leak, and I would prefer none of either, but it does happen.

Can you describe the clunking noise? Mine have made a clunking noise over bumps for the last 10k or so. I have 15k on it and its a 2013. Mine have no evidence of leaking though. Dealer told me its normal as well but I'm just wondering if this clunking noise yours have is the same noise mine are doing.

I am sorry but I have a problem with this answer. I have checked mine and there is no seepage. They are clean as a pin. I asked a Ford Tech and he says they get them all the time like that. He said they are "told" by Ford it is normal but he disagrees with that answer. However since Ford will not pay to "replace" these shocks nothing can really be done by the dealership. I too think it is excellent advice to contact Fox. I have talked with two owners who switched to 3.0 rears and they see no seepage at all.

It's a deep metal on metal sounding clunk. It's hard to describe but it seems to be if I go speed bumps at any speed over 5 mph and any random bumps. It sounds like something is loose and bouncing back up and hitting into something else.
