It's a deep metal on metal sounding clunk. It's hard to describe but it seems to be if I go speed bumps at any speed over 5 mph and any random bumps. It sounds like something is loose and bouncing back up and hitting into something else.

Thats pretty much exactly how I would describe mine. They told me its normal at the dealer but I'm still not sure it is. I've heard other guys on here say its normal as well but I'm yet to hear another raptor making this sound.

Exactly, I would love to sit in another raptor to hear it. It doesn't sound like it is normal. It sounds as if something is broken and clunking or the bed is loose almost bouncing.

Hi, folks!

Don't forget that I'm here to lend a helping hand. If you're concerned about the way your truck is performing, get it in front of your dealership so they can document and diagnose your concern. I'm always happy to do some digging to see what options there are to help out, so send a PM my way if you need me to step in after your appointment. I'll need your info, including your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

So I recorded this video driving over some speed bumps on my street. Sorry for the wind noise but you can hear the noise I'm talking about at the end of the video. I was told this is normal but I'm yet to hear the same noise on another raptor.

I am fairly sure that's what mine sounds like. I'll do my best to try and record mine both in the cab and outside of it so we can compare and help others understand what we are hearing.

I get a clunk when turning into driveways and whenever the frame is a twisting force position and I am turning. I think it's the front mounting bolts for the rear leaf springs. My loosen and when I re-tighten them the noise happens less often. Seems as though the holes for the bolts are too big and unless the bolts are super tight the bolt moves around in the hole.

Just a guess.

Could be that the bushing is going bad.

As far as I'm concerned, ANY actual oil on the piston is a failure. And to be sure, will lead to a bigger failure gone unrepaired. A spec of dirt in the oil on the piston hit by a kicked up branch creates a gouge in the piston and therefore creates a "bypass" for fluid.
