Are the Raptor Cabs and Frames the same as a regular F150?

Hah yepyep, no doubt about that. No way to tell where that frame the 35 was going into came from.

Question regarding that though: if there was special Raptor specific reinforcements going into the cab and frame, can they make those reinforcements on the same line, and on the fly as everything else is getting built? Or would they need to pull them off and do extra/different things, aka would they need a different line?

I don't see why they couldn't do a shift on the fly. They manage to build convertibles next to hard tops, next to glass roofs or whatever. I guess the process ends up being whatever is cheaper/easier involving the number of times it needs to happens. Does it make more sense to add the automation needed to the exsisting line, or add man power and a unique line to make the changes.

To the Cab being different I brought up in the other thread. Hopefully we can get Conner from Outlaw on here to weigh in. My information came directly from him. When he rolled RSV1, they had to order a new cab. He said the cab they order was different from his stock cab. He said the stock cab had more roll over protection on the top.

I understand this is all he says/she says, but I have absolutely NO reason to believe Conner made that statement up. What would be his reason to? Conner's smart enough to undertstand if he saw a difference between the cabs.

Looking at the payload shard for the 145”/6.2L SCrew, there is a 430lbs difference in vehicle weight between the raptor and regular truck

I want to saw that i've seen a normal F-150 without it's front fenders and if does not look like the Raptors. and I'm talking about the two reinforcement rails coming out of the cab on the Raptor.

I could be wrong, but I am almost positive I've seen an F-150 without those two supports or it wasn't two, it was just one. Not sure.

I think they can do it on the fly. I'm sure the cab are made seperate tht way then bolted on to truck. I doubt the reinforecments are done on the final assembly line. at that point it would simply be a matter of making a robot put on a reinforced cab, just like it chooses a single cab, Scab, or Screw, moon roof or not.

I wonder if Ford even builds the frame or is that done by another tier one company contracted by Ford? Just like Ford does not make the seat frames or assemble them they are done by other companies and then shipped to the assembly plant ready to install.

I had a 2010 Screw FX4 lux package. The front part of the frame is identical on the Raptor I have a front hitch for the FX4 was bolted to it. All the frame holes lineup and fit exactly. However the dam skid plate is in the way of where it would otherwise go. I also did not like when it was in place the hitch was very low on both trucks, I opted to go with the Outlaw Raptor version it bolts on higher. In the rear the width looks the same and you can put the Raptor spare on the FX4 anyway I can not give an answer for other models of F150, since I did not have one. It would make more sense that Ford has one frame fits everything if its the same wheel base, makes sense. This part is just my opinion I have two neighbors with 2010 and 2011 F150, Fx4 and Lariat versions if I asked them if I could take some measurements I am sure they would not care but then I have to actually go do it...

The cab on the Raptor is Raptor specific. It has additional reinforcement bracing in it for a roll over. Hell, even the doors from a normal F150 do not match up to the Raptor's electronics so those are Raptor specific as well.
