ARE DEAVER LEAF SPRINGS worth it ?

I know this is a old thread, but I have a 2020 I need to help sag when I tow the boat, but I want stockish street ride. You say the Deaver SD actually have less weight carrying ability than stock? I have eibachs up front and was going to do +3 sd in rear, so it would be back to stock rack, and was hoping for less sag. I assume the HD unloaded will ruin the plush ride.

No, HD will be perfect since you have the eibachs up front. The HD will maintain their arch better than the SD when towing. It will help with the wheel hop too.

I think they are worth it. Had Deaver +3 HD's on the Gen 1 and got the +4 HD's on the Gen 2 along with Eibachs in the front. The ride is just as smooth on the highway and A LOT smoother over bumps. They also make a big difference off-road or on accelerating over rough terrain and the rear doesn't sag when you load up the bed with gear.

I did not do hydraulic bump stops this time around. I got the SDHQ bump pads instead since I'm not over-driving it off-road. Did some jumps in Big Bend last week going 70mph and it was nice and soft!

Just decide on which arch level depending on how much weight you have in the bed.

I only tow 2 times a month, about 10 miles, but it is 600# tongue weight. I bought the raptor for the soft on road ride. The HD’s retain this, then when loaded up ,(sagged) they get into some weight carrying area?

How much weight are you typically towing? The HD will be no worse than your Eibach. If you tow regularly, then you need the HD. The ride will not be like a 3/4 ton truck. I had HD Deavers designed for 600 lbs and I couldn’t hardly tell the difference when I had or did not have anything in the bed.

So you had custom HD made? I only tow a little bit compared to no load. It is 600# tongue weight, about 6000# trailer. When it was stock, it would be about a inch lower in the back from front. Now with the eibachs, it’s a good 4” drop. I am not on the bump stops. I am also concerned I may be hurting the stock springs,

Yes, you can have the leaf springs arched to your specific needs. It’s a 4” drop because your leaf springs are now the weak point since you upgraded your front springs. The stock leaf springs suck. Lol I bet your leaf springs are probably flat if you take a look at them. I buy all my stuff through @Rick@FreedomMotorsports he will take good care of you.

For what you're doing and hauling, I'd go with the Deaver +3 HD. You'll get an added inch of height unloaded and an added 450lb carrying capacity over stock which will help with your 600lb tongue weight. You'll still get some sag when you tow, but with how infrequent you tow, I'd just deal with the slight sag a few times a year.

While the HD spring rate is higher, the on-road ride is not really impacted. Perhaps slightly firmer, but nowhere near a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck.

I have the 3+ and the ride is not harsh at all, if it's slightly stiffer for the HD I would do it.
