Anyone go to a Platinum 5.0 and regret it?

I was cross shopping the 19 F-150 5.0 Lariat and the Raptor just 2 weeks ago. I opted for the Raptor because it looks menacing and the performance out of the box is ridiculous. If I had gone with the Lariat I would have immediately thrown one an exhaust and CAI to get the most out of the V8 sound. Eventually I would have tuned it but from my research I still don't think the performance would be on par with the Raptor. Like some have already posted, I would have to supercharge to get what I'm looking for out of the V8.

That said I do miss the glorious sound of the V8 :)

Yeah I'm posting here wondering how bent over you're gonna be on resale. That's gonna hurt once the Gen III V8 comes out :lol2:
I am sure you think when you take your Rebel to trade, the dealer will drop to his knees when he sees that thing roll off the flatbed, in front of God and everyone. I sure hope you got a good deal on it. Post away troll.

Zero recalls on my old Rebel or my new Power Wagon. My PW is solid...!

How those frozen door locks on those F-150's lol, or those cam phaser problemos, or those warped plastic oil pans that Ford thinks is ok to replace with the same part, or the wavy aluminum around the door pulls, or that piped in fake ass motor sound verrrr verrrrr verrrrr I'm sure you love that...!!! Glad I sold my Jen II when I did :lol2:

Are you really as ***** as you sound here?? Do you eat lead paint chips for snacks? "I had an '06 and a '12 and they were really great!" WTF does that have to do with an entirely new gen truck built by an entirely different corporation? My '65 Plymouth Fury was very reliable and a fun car too! That had as much in common with the new Ram as your trucks. You haven't had the Power Wagon long enough to mean anything. You really showed everyone in here. Too bad it was the fact that you are a true idiot.

I appreciate the input guys but not interested in Rams with band-aid powertrains from 2014. I'll probably just keep my 18 till Gen 3 comes out or platinum 5.0 with ford performance supercharger installed for the warranty. Although I am seeing some pretty good deals on 2020 Raptors...

Are those cab lights???? I guess its an 18 Wheeler wanna be. LOL

Sorry, couldn't resist. I haven't seen many "cab lights" on real off road vehicles as of late.

Unfortunately I just got to reading this thread but want to report that I have a 2019 Platinum FX4 loaded with the trailer towing package and the 5.0. I was originally looking at a Raptor for the comfort of the ride but the overall size of it did me in. If I wanted something that big, I could get a Super Duty. I have had zero problems with the Platinum with 15,000 miles in 9 months of ownership. It tows my Mastercraft boat, 23 foot Veranda party barge or my 60 house John Deere tractor without any problems. I looked at the Limited but was ready to get away from Eco-boost engines although I never had any problems withy them.

I would NEVER look at or purchase any product made by Dodge regardless of the reviews. Just my opinion but in our area the service sucks and all the dealers are horrible.

I know that this is a really late post and apologize for that or if anyone gets pissed that I am not a certified Raptor owner. I still think the Raptor is the best value for performance and ride quality on the planet but it just did not suit my everyday needs. In case anyone want to call me out on that, I also sold my Shelby GT350 since I did not drive it regularly.
