To me, it was a major disappointment. I was expecting / hoping for 16" of wheel travel, with upgraded Fox shocks to support that travel. Take away the V8, black Recaros (which I do want!), and some interior black pieces, it's the same as any Gen 3 Raptor. I really don't think it's worth the money, and definitely know it's not worth the ADM that comes with it. I'll be getting a Gen 3 around 24 / 25.

Aside from the hard shifting, the constant TSB software updates to the tranny, the terrible moonroof, the occasional hood unlocking at random times, I really love my Gen2 lol. Not to mention, I think the Gen2 looks a bit more aggressive and less boxy then the Gen3. Will be curious if Ford does any slight design updates to the 2024.

What about the graphics with all the 8's? I kinda got the impression of them throwing the V8 thing back in everyone's face. Truck is not an option for me, but I did place an order for a 23 at msrp. Wanna get one more before the whole electric thing is forced down our throats . Hoping to make it last the rest of my life.

Graphics are ok, not great. I considered a '23 V6 but same engine, more boxy. The tech and interior upgrades are pretty nice and I'm sure the V6 is tuned better than the Gen2's.

At 62 I gave up on obtaining a Lightning because of the ridiculous delay, inevitable price hikes, and being associated with the EV cult. Instead, I jumped in head first to Raptor World with a G1 and the big gnarly V8.

At 47 I quit dirt bikes and sportbikes with like 250 hp on the race track. I got a 1G, refinished and bushed used deaver springs and it all kinda snowballed from there. ADV +2 fiberglass on both ends of the truck Bypass rack, bed support bars, and traction bars went in. Soon I'll tear the front end apart and put in long travel.

I couldn't agree more. I had been looking forward to it ever since they announced it was going to be a reality, then the ADM's and starting $109k sticker made me reevaluate just holding on to my Gen 2 and spending $30k-$50k over the next few years as it ages to build it up better, and get a nice sports sedan as a daily driver for work, and just driving the Raptor on Fridays and weekends.

I like that they came out with a Blacked out package(FINALLY!) and the motor, but they didn't provide enough aesthetic substance to justify the HUGE difference in price from a standard Gen 3. It was somewhat disappointing.
160lb ft of torque than v6 and no more travel than gen2 for $$$$$$$$$$$$$

I don’t see the R as a realistic option anytime soon, but a TRX certainly is realistic to get under MSRP.

To me, the R appears to be an afterthought, or a hastily put together response to the TRX, when Ford realized just how attractive a supercharged V8 with 700hp really is for the majority of guys who had a V6 Raptor for the past 5 years. Now all looking at a TRX, and large chunk making the switch instead of having a Gen 3 Raptor with the same absurd sounding V6 shoved down our throats.

I love the performance of my (tuned) Gen 2. But I absolutely hate the sound of it. A TRX seems to be the most obvious pick that checks all the boxes.

I think the TRX will suffer the same fate as the charger/challenger supercharged variants within the next model year. Writing is on the wall IMO. If you want one I would start looking. Hope not.

I think the big 3 all have the same market intelligence and have had it for a while. Ford has just been executing on this intelligence at a faster pace toward electrification IMO. Emission credit swapping between completely different industries is a thing and is a lucrative business.

With all that said I wouldn’t mind a 800 HP Raptor Hybrid eco boost with 4 helper electric motors, that recharge when ICE takes over at cruising speeds. With a 7500 tax credit.
