They should have paint matched or something like that, would make it stand apart a bit more..

People who are hung up on cylinder count are a niche part of the market; that is evidenced by the sales numbers alone. The Gen 2 and 3 have outsold the Gen 1 many times over.So because they look alike you say Ford can’t offer a V8 option…after huge parts of the market won’t buy the V6 and we have begged for a V8 since 2014? Yeah this is just a dumb take. Every other brand has engine variety in the same trucks. If you don’t like the R don’t buy one, but to think it shouldn’t exist because you don’t like it, is umm, special. More options is a good and If anything they don’t give you enough options with the R.
It’s a hand built engine, and they need to build them for GT500 and R. That’s most likely the biggest production constraint, not the supply chain.I think his angle is if they are producing 3000 v6s and ~ 2200 v8s then why not produce the whole lot of v8s? This would be a non issue with ample supple and transparency from F. Does the TRX come in a 6? It’s a SC v8 at the end of the day. F need to get their supply chain in order.
Exactly. In a period where worker shortages are abundant they should be leaning into technology to build these motors. What’s the upside to “hand built motors”? I dunno….It’s a hand built engine, and they need to build them for GT500 and R. That’s most likely the biggest production constraint, not the supply chain.
They could build them on an automated mass production line, but being hand built is what makes them special and exclusive.Exactly. In a period where worker shortages are abundant they should be leaning into technology to build these motors. What’s the upside to “hand built motors”? I dunno….
Yeah if all those raptors had V8’s they all would of sold so irrelevant.People who are hung up on cylinder count are a niche part of the market; that is evidenced by the sales numbers alone. The Gen 2 and 3 have outsold the Gen 1 many times over.
The R is more about the horsepower to complete with the TRX than anything else; the 5.2 was the best choice for that.
The point is there was no V8 and they still sold more. Most people are not so fixated on cylinder count. Especially when the 3.5 HO outperforms every V8 in Ford’s lineup sans the exclusive 5.2 S/C.Yeah if all those raptors had V8’s they all would of sold so irrelevant.
Well IMO I’d just ask they give you both options and let everyone get the one they want. Then we could all get a raptor that we loved. That’s all I’m ever asking for is more freedom and choices. I’d LOVE a new raptor with a V8 that I could afford but it isn’t happening. So I’m stuck keeping the Gen1 going foreverThe point is there was no V8 and they still sold more. Yea that $110k price tag is steep, I don’t know many people who could afford one. Never mind the ridiculous dealer mark ups.Well IMO I’d just ask they give you both options and let everyone get the one they want. Then we could all get a raptor that we loved. Found the bottleneck:They could build them on an automated mass production line, but being hand built is what makes them special and exclusive.
