Any Regret Going Moving To 37"s?

Yeah that’s a great like for like comparison. A 1100 hp/ 3500lb full race truck compared to a production Ford Raptor. So glad you set me straight. :slap:

Ok then, in a stock Raptor, name one off road condition where a 35” tire has an advantage over a 37” tire. Like I said, there are plenty of circumstances where the difference won’t be that big, but the 35 won’t have an advantage.

Well since the Raptor is built for it there’s a good probability the lighter tire that will allow for more articulation in the 35 truck will would benefit in baja. That additional 1” articulation had by the 35 truck could also benefit on the trail. There’s no clear winner between the two so I’d be ignorant to make such a statement.
The heavier tire would definitely slow the truck down and negatively affect braking. Brake fade would come sooner with that 37 although the 35 wouldn’t be far behind.

I’m not comparing the 35 Raptor vs 37 Raptor, so travel is not affected. Otherwise I’d agree with you. This thread is about people going to 37s on a 35 truck, so I’m just comparing two different tire sizes on the same truck.

Also, I agree about brake performance and fade, which is one of the reasons why I said the 35 has an advantage in street driving.

Spec tt class was 430hp 6000lb trucks until a couple years back when they approved 530hp motors.

The point is that all off-road race vehicles use the biggest tire they can manage because of the benefits gained.

There are a bunch of rzr pro r’s rolling on 37s and they make 225hp

When someone says “trophy truck” one class comes to mind and it’s not a rzr pro r.

This is the most important “biggest tire they can manage”. Some can run 40s but if you manage to fit a 40 on a Raptor it wouldn’t benefit you over a 35. There’s a point where bigger isn’t better.

Also these trucks have other components that compliment the larger tire. Might be larger brake or stronger axles.

My 4Runner and Range Rover prior to this both had 33's and I had plenty of clearance and tire/sidewall to off-road where I wanted. The way I see it, now I have an additional 2" (with my 35's) so there are no excuses.
2" more ground clearance going from a 33 to a 35 diameter tire? What type "engineer" are you? :p

37s also have more surface area than 35s when aired down. This helps with trail imperfections giving a smoother ride.

The debate between 35s, 37s, 39s and above will rage on forever. Much like 9mm and 1911s. Each have their own place based on end user's use.

The real take a way from this thread? We are all glad that we are not driving a new Tundra.
